Here's another one. On further inspection there's a couple of minor light scratches on the back but you'd have to be focusing hard to notice. Very happy but for some reason I thought the title was embossed, not sure why ahah

Don't understand why the photos are on their side, hmm

I see this appear on cex website the other day for £32 and I was bidding on a open copy on fleabay that had a scratch on the back and I was in the lead with about 1 day left on it and my bid was at £36 and it had like £4-£4.50 shipping and I was outbid all of a sudden, so I went for the cex website hoping it wasn't in a state condition along with the thing steelbook (same problem not knowing the condition but was £8 and I don't own it so had to do it considering they go for about £40 now). Anyway they both arrived today and in absolutely perfect condition. Drive was possibly the one steelbook I wanted the most. I am the happiest person today. (Also the thing turned up in perfect condition but no slip) so I did pretty well for £42.50 (£2.50 delivery) considering I didn't really wana go over £40 for drive but thought sh*t I'm gona have to.

Can't Belive how gorgeous this beauty is

Welcome to DRIVE Club :oohyeah:

I got one for £16 just before Xmas from a seller on Amazon. It was listed under the standard blu ray but described as being the steelbook with a couple of condition issues -that being 2 small dents, apart from that it is in really nice condition and also came with J card in mint condition. After seeing how nice it is in the flesh I really want a mint one but this will do for now.

So keep an eye on listings on Amazon that don't have a steelbook for them (eg. Thor Hmv) as sellers sometimes list them under the standard release and don't really know the value.

I bet there are some "mint" copies on Ebay.... The package comes, you open it,oh so carefully, the heart is pounding.... wiping sweat from your brow, you look down... J card (tick), no creases to said card (tick) no noticeable marks to top half of steel book (tick)

You take of the J card... and it just blurts out... what the fuuu.. your mother fuu... (kids told to leave room)

You contemplate a marker pen, to cover up the crime. You put the steel book down and squint your eyes "that scratch aint too bad" you say. You then pick it up and down 50 times in a two minute period, in some way hoping the damage will just be a bad dream.

You then consider it a "good price, so you will keep it. 30 seconds later, the OCD monster arrives. There is no way back. You read the listing again "mint?" MINT?! The sweats start again. The missus tries to console you, but all you can do is shout "OOP!" and "SOON TO BE RARE". You are at this point, now shaking with complete rage. "I don't want the f##kin French version" you say.

You message the seller, make him aware of his crimes to humanity. They cave in after you threaten to beat him with a £5.89 copy of Pitch Black.

You get it for £17.99 and it becomes the Jon Snow of your steel book collection.

Of course, you leave that SOB negative feedback!:scat:

The End :D

Bravo. Bravo. Standing ovation. Now, should I click Buy It Now for $150 (1/24/14) and go through with it?.....? Leaning towards yes....

Wow, that seems a lot, but I guess it must be a sealed version.

Surely you can get one a bit cheaper than that? Maybe message the seller to negotiate.

Even better, put it out there on the ninja board, to say you are looking for this. Or check the for sale/trade thread. Someone should be able to assist.

Hope this helps

Hey man, just read this now. I actually bought it new/sealed "mint" for $160 postage paid w/insurance on ebay. I appreciate ur suggestion a lot. I want to try to use the forum & the help of other Ninjas to acquire Steelbooks, but I'm fairly new here & I've never used this forum in that capacity yet. I've paid some crazy prices on amazon & ebay for certain tittles before, but I would like to use the ninja connection in the future. Here's a pic of my more 'hard to find' aka 'easy to find if you are willing to pay $100+...

I'm willing to help fellow ninjas out as well, I live in California and it just seems like the UK gets all the great releases.

Dude don't pay that for steelbooks! I bought it through auction on eBay not 10 days ago, new and sealed for less than $75!. It was utterly flawless. I suggest trying a few auctions before spending $150 again on a steelbook or try the trades on here like others have suggested.

Granted the seller has left no feedback and never even notified me that they dispatched it. Think they were seriously pissed that it didn't go any higher.

I'm NOT a lucky person, if I can get steels for a good price so can you.

Drive HMV...

Dave,

Youre right, its too much...Next time, before I drop a lot of money on a steel, I will defiantly check the forum first. If this Steelbook arrives mint, it will be worth every Penny to me. If it has anything other than a factory defect; I will be very unhappy about the price & feel scammed. Looking forward to this one for sure. Will let u guys know if it is truly mint or just ebay "mint" when it arrives. I open all my steels, so only time will tell...thanks again

Jordan

Drive has arrived...

I think u guys are right...

Sadly, it's not truly 100% mint...

After careful deliberation:
• I would rate it's condition a 9.5 out of 10.
•A 'very Small' crease/ding on the back/top near the edge sort of where the j card ends.EEK!
•Not really very noticable(to an untrained eye perhaps).
•Not the fault of the Seller, unless he has X-ray vision...;)

Anyway, guess that's the gamble you take when you collect steelbooks.

Over all my NINJAS, I'm happy to have this beautiful edition in my collection.

Sorry to hear that. For the price you paid, I am surprised you want to keep it, or at the very least, get some sort of partial refund.

If you have paid a premium price, that should merit a premium product and service.

It is the sellers responsibility to check for any flaws or damage. If you could see them, so could they. You paid a collectors price so they would have known how much the condition of the steel would mean to you.

I have sold a few titles on eBay and have always triple checked the condition before sending it out. Annoys me when sellers go all defensive, like "my definition of mint, is not yours" idiocy!

This can happen on the Ninja trade board too. It depends on the actual person, I think.

If you saw the ding and still opened it, then I guess its one of those where you accepted it them so accepted it now. I had to re-read, as I though it was an open one!

If you ever need any help, I am sure a ninja, including myself, can always try and help.
