well obviously, but they've reduced the quality and protection of the packaging by using flimsy plastic instead of thin foam....moving even further away from standards set by Play last year *sigh*

so only way to ensure your not potentially stuck with damaged copies is by doubling up. Far from ideal or even fair but its the only alternative

It's annoying me about Zavvi's packaging. I'm ordering my 3rd copy of Captain America because of this.

Back on topic, it would be nice to know just how limited these Disney releases are.

The artwork could be better but it could also be a hella lot worse. This one is one of those that will either look way better in hand or like total shite.

the embossing might be nice, zavvi doesn't do many gloss releases

the embossing was nice on a a lot of their disney steels but jb and little mermaid were so dull and lifeless with the matte finish (thats why those failed.) With the color palates their using for dumbo and peter pan, it has to be gloss to be able to capture that shine like aladdin and nemo did

true! but zavvi and most eTailers go for quantity not quality.

i'd like to see KimchiDVD do some of the classic Disneys.

The Jungle Book was far from dull and lifeless. Admittedly The Little Mermaid was underwhelming, but it was still nice. I agree though that they should use glossy finishes to make the most of the artwork.

FYI-From our contacts at Zavvi directly-Peter Pan, Dumbo and Lady & The Tramp have a 4,000 qty print run (and yes I will add it to the OP), and there are absolutely no plans to increase the print runs. As I said many times before, we are lead to believe that a very hard lesson was taken away from the Jungle Book. Peter & Dumbo are sold out, and any cancellations may go on sale next year, as of now.

Nice to see it sell out, everyone had their chance and now it's gone, well except for the usual couple hundred cancellations etc. really pleased I got an order in. If it's vibrant as they say it will be its a winner. A great steelbook for the collection and collectors thanks Zavvi.

Agree with this. Many of the previous Zavvi releases had coupon codes either available or become available during the preorder phase. Coupon codes create more sales for sure, but they also create more cancels / reorders, so it's a catch 22.

Dumbo and Peter Pan sold out with no coupon codes (only student discounts as far as I know).

I'd say the "back in stock" quantity will be far less with these because of this.

Since these are iconical releases with alot of memories attached i dont see these coming back in big waves. Speaking for myself, i couldnt be happier, because i love all these movies and the connection to my childhood.

And if these come with a super-gloss finish its just a bonus for me - not more not less.
