its not good trading, customers should be notified of any changes like this, it can put people in a bad position

My thoughts exactly, how can a company as big as zavvi just take payment early when all titles (besides Peter pan) state released 17th feb.
It messes up a lot of there customers who budget and have arrangements for the dates that THEY state.
Even now the titles still state 17th feb.

They should either have a system where you pay for the item when it is ordered or no sooner than 2 days before stated release, I would imagine a lot of these payments have been refused because of this early dispatch

Had this, lady and the tramp and Peter Pan shipped and it's messed me up a little. Don't get me wrong I'm happy but I could of waited the week and I've Got a feeling my filth will get cancelled. Got two of those because one was for a friend and he put the money in my account. Got a feeling this or pan has eaten his money up.

Completely agree, luckily I had the money in my account so did not experience any payment problems but part of that money was for a couple of BF releases and have now had to organise a way around this in order to pay for them which has not helped me at all, a simple heads up from zavvi for those who had pre ordered would have been appreciated by a lot customers.

I think we are all in the same boat. My money took a hammering as well and It's going to cause me problems over the next few weeks. Not a happy camper and I've not to cancel a few amazon orders to compensate .

9.27am?. It's 15.27 here.........

Hmmz had payment problems too. It was released early... I tried to resolve it, but Zavvi kicks me to their inlogscreen and that's it. Hope I can get this, cause I have all the Disneys from Zavvi.

Anyone has a spare... just in case?

Have had a reply on facebook

' I can now advise that these items will have been dispatched as stock is available. Please note that release dates can be moved forward as well as back on all pre-orders. Kind regards, Chris'

That is a bunch of BS, that would be like the government, hydro, or telephone companies raising their rates & not telling anyone, then afterwards just saying, "we can raise the rates up or lower the rates if we feel like it & not tell anyone" There would be an outrage from people because people need to know when changes are coming, & Zavvi is no different. Fine change the release date, but let us know & let us know when the shipping date is.

Zavvi shipping early isn't anything like that... They didn't charge you any more or any less than what you agreed to pay at the time of your order. It makes sense for Zavvi to ship these as soon as they get them since these movies have no true "street date" because they've previously been released by Disney.

Yes and just because they have their stock early, doesnt mean they have to send them out early. They should just stick to their release date. sending them out damn near two weeks ahead of the date stated when you pre-ordered is simply bad customer service.

They need to inform their customers. a simple email saying the items are in stock early and so the release will be brought forward to 'x date' would suffice.

but part of your order is also that release date. you agree to pay that amount with that date in mind. they changed the date by two weeks, which is absurd.

people budget. when you order something weeks or months in advance, you have to make plans so you have funds in place. if they change the release date by such a wide margin as two weeks, it messes up all your plans. you didnt budget for the money to be taken at this date, you planned for the money to be taken at a later date- the result is, either you dont have the money, or it messes up your budget.

i think its bad customer service to not advice customers of these changes.

They do have a street date, it's listed on the website.

Release Date: 17 February 2014

That's not a "street date". Street dates are set by distributors (Disney). The release date was set by Zavvi. As I mentioned these were already released by Disney so they can ship them as soon as they are made. It is different for new releases which have a true "street date"

Bottom line is they had a date, they haven't kept to it, and they did so with no warning. My account will now be overdrawn due to their insolence.

Great work again, Zavvi

Probably a good reason why they are shipping them early. They wanted to ship them before everyone had a chance to cancel.

And the sad thing is that I believe this to be the case.

Semantics. Zavvi is the one selling this Steelbook, if they set a release date of February 17, they should stick by it.

I don't have any problem with them releasing Steelbooks early, but as has been mentioned, a lot of people set budgets for these sort of things.

Haha the worst part with me is that I worked it out and thought 'this only leaves me £10 overdrawn, I have that on me, I'll put it in tomorrow'. Then it hit me, '**** these are £20'.

So I messaged Zavvi about payment problem with Paypal & told them I transferred the money from USD to GBP to pay for the movies & to try again & this is the response I got
