Won't be getting mine till middle of December as it is going to be shipped with Pacific Rim. :(:(

if you have an order with 2 items in it, ''one in stock'' and ''one as a pre-release'', usually the Amazon system will notice the one in stock and they will ship it before the other one is released since it is far away. It works like this for amazon.com I would assume amazon.jp would work the same way. I hope so.

I hope not as they use better packaging when they ship 2 steels!

like I said that is how amazon.com works, not sure about amazon.jp

The safety in numbers approach is why I used to bulk up my pre-orders with stock items.
Sadly, and increasingly both the .DE and .IT sites are doing it too (sending out the in-stock items) - which can be rather worrysome when even the .De site fails (sometimes) to send out a single steel in the appropriate packaging.

With the unique customization (as Actarus points out) perhaps just enough to justify the investment...though will be gutted if it tumbles in price so soon after release like Amazing Spiderman 2 and Jack Ryan.

This is such a sweet release, the Title plus Custom made disks, I'm loving it more and more as time goes by.
Actarus, I know you dig the Japanese & Korean stuff, so... I loved the original title so much I got 2 of the steels, AND a blu.
I thought you might enjoy the look of the unopened Japanese Amray Blu!

A lot of people keep mentioning the price and in the steelbook world its like saving pennies..

Nova is 40.99 + 12 ship = $53

Now I paid $58 + $9.50 ship (and $2 gift wrap, not including this)= $67.5

Grand total of $14.5 more. Let's not mention the one day shipping..for $9, thing teleported here from Japan, seriously.

However, it's totally up to you (the collector). I won't buy more than one copy of a steelbook unless its drive (this might change in the future). I hate 3D logos. The quarter slip from nova is cool. Though, I open mine and shove j-cards in a shoebox. Art cards and post cards are overplayed, don't care about these anymore.

Spot gloss with 3D logo vs unique comic book title for $14 more. $14. Not $50.

You are forgetting that people in Europe will be hit with customs that are calculated directly by Amazon as a part of the order - this makes the total price including shipping approx. 20% more expensive due to VAT.
On the other hand, Nova can state lower value on the package...

Oh love the Layout of your blu-ray; the title at the bottom and japanese writing top left. hehe me too got 2 copies of the steel and the Amaray Japan => I got 2 copies to be able to open 1 as the disks are so insane looking and after decided to keep them sealed and got the blu-ray but blu-ray is as nice as a Steelbook I can't get myself to open a copy, I'm so confused

oh..I noticed that yours contains the DVD and blu-ray...mine is Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray(it was Expensive though cost me more than a steelbook Korean or Taiwan; 65$ approx=> cost of item + duty + shipping) guess that must be why they are different copies as it is with the DVD combo...

I posted pics of mine in the Slipcover section look at the pictures;

when you ordered, did the picture advertised on Amazon show only the Amaray case as they do now but they shipped you the copy you showed the pic of with the slipcover ???

This would be a stunner fullslip for the steel!
Too bad they missed the chance!
Japan is 1/8 slip or no slip only! :(

@Actarus
I do believe (it was a while ago) that your second link is the one I bought. And, No, the image they showed was definitely not the J-card image! It's weird- but thats what it is! An Amray Blu with a J-card!!:woot:
I was very surprised when it arrived, and now, I kinda wanna NOT open it and keep it that way!
I also got the steel from Germany as well (They were the FIRST to go live with pre-orders). So, the only one I don't have is the spot-glossed NOVA CHOICE version. Kind of insane that it is still available right there on NOVA's site. Not sold out. image.jpg So maybe I should get that! I really am not the guy who gets 3 or 4 copies of a movie steel, but EOT/AYNIK was hands-down my favorite movie of the summer, and a real nice surprise for people who don't realize the Awesome they missed!! (It had a great story, people!!).image.jpg

This is so strange I was wondering as to why the blu-ray was shrink wrapped inside the slipcover, but it's not a slipcover but a J-card that makes sense. My Copy is a Slipcover, Amaray case is not shrink wrapped but the whole slipcover and Amaray are shrink wrapped all together as usual in blu-ray slipcover Asian releases.

I feel same way I can't get myself to open my blu-ray Slipcover it's just too beautiful.

I'll be honest with you the Nova Media of EOT for me is a let down. I buy Korean releases to have it feel like a Korean releases same as we buy Japanese releases to have the feel of a japanese release. But Nova Media does Not do their back artwork j-Card in Korean but instead in English only. The only Korean on the product is the front title on the 1/4 slip, the back of the slipcover feels like a US release. They do all their back artwork in English even though they are a Korean company. First time I buy Korean steels and back artwork is not written in Korean.

So if you buy it for ''the feel of a Korean Release'' it is a let down. Quality Steelbook, but it is the same steelbook with spot gloss as the regular NON-Nova Korean Release. Only difference the nova it comes with the bonus art cards/pictures.

if you plan on getting a Korean release look at pictures on both Threads for the regular Korea and the Nova Choice so you can see and make a better choice for yourself.

I know all collectors are different. I never care for the art card stuff! So much filler to me! But I kinda wish they had J-cards that were made to be removed and placed INSIDE the front inside cover (they obviously don't now).
I love inside artwork but I ALSO miss the really great inside booklets you get with Criterion releases, and wish steels had them (but- ha! - most the time it wouldn't matter since most my steels are from a foreign country!)
But, it would be a cool option to have maybe a pre-scored J-Card that could be designed to be trimmed and put inside the front compartment...:D
I also think it's kinda funny that the Japanese J-Cards on the Amray Blus leave ZERO blank real estate on the card (like blank space is unused paid advertising and a sacrilege to not use!!).:hilarious:
**EDIT (on the J-Cards, I'm talking about the Utilitarian info-only J-Cards! NOT nice 1/4 slips!!)

I snapped and bought it from eBay. Sold my HMV UK edition to partly fund this one. It is all about the original comic book title for me. I was gutted when they decided to rename it post production.

I do. There wasn't a lot in the price, and this way I can be guaranteed that it will come in a box and properly protected. He will also send it out tomorrow :)

sometimes when it's bought in Japan, shipping from Amazon to Japan shipping journey less long might be less chance for damage and also that seller can guarantee it's OCD condition and pack it well so it's received in same condition and we don't have to worry. it is what I was forced to to with my zavvi maleficent bought it off ebay and seller made sure I got my OCD copy, it's often just great not to stress and let somebody else do the work and deliver on their words.

I've been mulling over whether to buy from amazon or ebay...if the price is right I'll buy from ebay, but many are charging silly money. With Amazon the problem can be import fees, as the government hates us for importing from outside the EU. I am happy with my HMV copy, this is a 'luxury'. I enjoyed the film much more than I thought but as the only difference is the titles and lack of 3D logo, and with HD Zeta Gladiator, blufans Kung Fu Panda and Iron Man...this may have to be delayed. Christmas is coming after all...perhaps missing out on kimchi's Iron Man was a blessing!
