Guillermo del Toro's excellent film "The Devils Backbone" is to be released on the 11th of October 2011. I can thoroughly recommend this film to fans of European cinema.
Synopsis:
Spain, towards the end of the 1930's, Carlos, a boy of 12 years, is abandoned by his guardian at the orphanage, St. Lucia, an imposing building which stands alone in a desolate wasteland. The school hides along its gloomy corridors, a series of flawed relationships among the adults who live there, mainly between the leading quartet composed of Carmen (the director), Casares (a mature teacher), Jacinto (the aggressive janitor) and Conchita (a young teacher). There will soon appear a violent rivalry between Charles and James, a tortured and hostile teenage character who acts as a natural leader for the rest of the students.
Extras:
Remastered: New Transfer
Trailer, Interview with Guillermo del Toro (HD), Film Storyboard
Audio: Spanish DTS-HD 5.1, Subtitles: English, French
