Well Uncut in this case only means Uncut theatrical Version. There is no Unrated Directors Cut at this point, but I'm quite sure, we will get it in the future. Since there are no deleted Scenes on the blu ray, and I know for a fact that they cut tons of scenes. A lot of it was in the trailers and the tv spots, besides I read the screenplay way before the movie was releases and it had like easily 15-20 minutes dialog more. Quite sure we will see at least some of them.

So basically, the uncut German edition is the theatrical cut, and then the cut German version is just a heavily cut version of the film...?
Thanks :)

Yes, the Uncut german version is the normal theatrical cut. Germany getting a more violent version then the rest of the world, dream on :hilarious:

But here the explanation: The FSK denied the theatrical version an FSK 18 rating for it's DVD/Bluray release, the only way for sony to release the uncut version then was via a Spio/Jk rating (kind of a special rating in terms of its legality. A special commission checks if a movie is illegal because of it's depiction of violence. If it gets the Spio/Jk rating it is legal to sell, of course only to people who are 18 or older ). However this version can still be indexed at a later point, which means it still can be sold but only under the counter and in Special Online Shops (not regular ones like Amazon) and public advertising would be illegal. So to have a version that can't be indexed Sony created a censored version of the theatrical cut which received an FSK 18 rating (as soon as a movie has an FSK rating it can't be indexed). So basically Sony is simply releasing two version of the theatrical cut, a cut version and an uncut version. I know it's really complicated, hope my english is good enough to make it understandable. That was lesson one of german movie ratings :D

Ended up cancelling my online order and will pick mine up in the store as it is cheaper and no shipping. This way I can pick my own out to make sure there is nothing wrong with it.;)

That look... I've seen that look on women's faces so many times.

Being in the US this fall, I'll probably stop by a Target (and a Walmart, and also a Best Buy in the hopes of finding Zero Dark Thirty and Les Misérables waiting for me all wrapped up with a bow :)) and buy this if the film is good enough - I'll watch it soon to make sure it's worth the price, not a big horror fan.

Got my shipping notice today. Will probably still drop buy on Tuesday to get one in case the mailed one gets damaged. Luckily they just opened a Target near my work. I mainly just mail order these in case my store runs out/does not get stock.
