why can't these morons just take a few seconds to look over steelbooks, they must get a ton of returns, and even if they did look out for damage they probably just hope that the person who receives them keeps them and doesn't complain, a group of monkeys could run a company better than zavvi

The damage most people are reporting is inside the steelbook, under the backing card. How can zavvi see this? Its studiocanal who package them and do this to them before reaching zavvi.

Zavvi arent saints though, but the majority of this debacle is mistreat on studicanals part and its a disgrace

studiocanal are pretty bad for steelbooks and I'm not blaming zavvi for damage on the back of steelbooks as they can't obviously see it and I'm sure it was done before they received them, but they should at least make an attempt to check the front of them too as there is damage there also, and I'm pretty sure they send some dented as well maybe not on purpose but that should be checked also, I don't believe every steelbook that we receive has been dented in the post, I have had damaged ones from Amazon before but at least their customer service is fantastic and u can trust them

Received the replacement copy today... Lift the j card.... WORSE damage to the back than the first one!

Ok, this may not be zavvis fault directly, but it does not help that you have to email them, prove the damage, then find a poxy collect plus location to send it back.

Zavvi, in my opinion, take the fun out of collecting. 3 steelbooks, 3 damaged and rambo here in the morning, oh the joy!

Maybe they can push the boat out an offer me £2 off. Very classy.

Same here. Both steelbooks with scratches on the back in the same place. Needless to say I'm done with this steelbook. I'll just get the standard release. Very poor from Studio Canal.

Mine arrived today
There is very faint hair line scratches on the back
Not very noticeable to be honest
Steelbook looks great
Pity though its not embosed etc

I don't think on this occasion it's zavvi fault as it looks as if its the jcard that's caused the damage to everyone's Steelbook

I'm a bit luckier compared to others damaged
As mine is near mint

Some research needs to be done on the use of jcards
Are they really needed would a info sheet inside not be better
You could keep or throw away as you do with jcard

Steelbook shipped in a Protective sleeve good quality
And you get one every time
What needs to be done is find out what is causing paint chips and scratches on Steelbook
Is it when been shrink wrapped or caused by damage during been posted
Why some steelbooks always arrive in mint condition
Is it because better quality paint been used etc

I don't think it's the j card mate, it looks like how it's been handled before the j card is applied. There like scrapes to the metal work, more or less, in the same place.

no doubt, zavvi will be compensated by the distributor who packaged these. In turn, us as the consumer, should also be compensated.

Still no ED 2013 steely!

They are delaying the dissapointment.

Receiving the steelbook, I was all hi fives to the wife and kids.

Upon opening the item, removing the j card and finding some one had gone to war on the back of the steel, The high fives turned to clenched fists. My 5.89 copy of pitch black is no more.

(And it still has less damage than my evil dead purchase)

When HDN members got 10% off selected steelbooks, did zavvi actually mean 10% of the steelbook would be destroyed?!

It is disappointing all the things I been hearing.
My ED2 one was mint apart from small paint chip in top left corner which can be fixed by marker. I got two copies of ED 2013 ordered, so hopefully one of em is similar and not badly chipped. Then can send other one back.

Just opened mine and thought I had been lucky however upon closer inspection 2 of the corners have scratches on them and the back has 2 rather large marks on it. They're not exactly scratch marks, it looks like something has been rubbing on it and taken the top layer of paint off, not right down to the metal.

At first it sounded like a production flaw, however after reading that everyones damage is different it sounds like it's a simple case of terrible quality control.

When will companies realise that spending a bit more money on quality control will save them money in the long run through less stock wastage and less money spent posting out replacement copies.

Just opened mine, a couple of minor paint chips and a hairline scratch all on the back, but I won't risk sending it back, the replacement could be worse, not worth the risk. I do love the steelbook thou looks great in hand

Well I have had 2 copies from Zavvi now and both are ****ed !!

Why oh why is it so hard to make these arse holes at the factory to take more care of steelbooks ..... It ain't rocket science is it !!

Must be costing a fortune in returns for the company
