@tokaman breaking street date has brought retailers to their needs with huge fines. There are substantial contracts in place and marketing schedules. Of course instances of this occur, but things can get dire for retailers (including loss of exclusives, early shipments etc) if products are sold earlier than they should be. Ireland and UK only I'm guessing...No option to select another country besides those two...

What I like is now as customers we can order HMV exclusives online and this looks as if they are now making available pre order exclusives

Previously you could not be sure if your local HMV/Xtra-vision shop got stock and was hit and miss if they did so its very helpful for all both in UK and Ireland we now have an online option for ordering HMV exclusives

As long as all future HMV exclusives are available to pre order online we all gain in be it your in the UK or Ireland

I will find out at a later stage if they plan to offer international shipping but for now its at least a lot better than before for UK/Ireland customers

I think if you pre-order in store they allocate you one from the central pool in addition to any stock they may also get so you're almost guaranteed one.
