Tried my hardest to get the Media Markt version of 7 so that I had a matching set, and this one doesn't match! Haha. I've got this on order anyway, but I can see myself double dipping if a matching version of #8 is released.

Just thought the forum might like to be aware Universal are playing silly buggers with this release in the US & Canada (so likely here too).

The extended Directors Cut (F. Gary Grey's preference and 13-minutes in F&F 8) will only appear on the Digital HD version, and not the physical discs as per previous F&F films.

Considering the high price of the Zavvi 4k Steelbook and the initial US press coverage (presumably at least in part authored by Universal) which suggested the Directors Cut would be included on the physical media, it strikes me as pretty shoddy sharp practice by Universal if you ask me.

According to the cinemablend interview, it seemed to suggest even the Director thought the Directors Cut was on the disks!.

If this too is the case in the UK, part of me hopes potential buyers will realise they're being at least in part short-changed, vote with their wallets and boycott this Universal title in protest.

I hate these big studios pushing Digital Download only extras.
I dont have and never will watch a movie downloaded until there is no physical media. Which I hope NEVER happens. Seeing as 4k discs are 100GB+ I doubt anytime soon it would happen.

So how long until (or is it already happening) before extras are available on the 4K disc only and left off of the Blu-ray disc?

The way Blu-rays have special features that DVD's don't.

Same here... Thing is, I have a funny feeling they'll do the same again with 9 & 10, each with different steelbook art. I have all Zaavi's 1-6, and also managed to get a matching 7. All that effort for nothing!

I tried to get a matching 7 for a while, but then this was announced and I saw there was no other version that matched the previous set, and someone posted up a pic of this one next to the previously released 7 by zavvi and they matched pretty well so I just got that one instead. Very annoying, but 7 and 8 match pretty well. If 9 matches this one then I won't be as bothered I guess.
