Fixing damaged steel books with ink

hey,

i think i recall reading somewhere in the forum, that you can use a permanent marker or fine liner pen to "cover" or "repair" a steel book when it has small scratches.

in this case i'm wondering whether a little black ink might fix my V-for Vendetta steel.

i love my steels too much, to just go ahead and try an experiment like that :ohno:

Sorry for the kind of old bump 20 days or so..;p, but to the OP: Are you trying to patch up the zavvi V for vendetta? Mine has a little red mark (seems to be common with gloss + black steels?) but I used a non permanent black marker just to see how it would look.

And it is not a good idea. Glossy black + marker does not look good. I have patched up chipped matte steels before with a marker and it's hard to notice you did anything but glossy steels you are way better off leaving chipped. I was able to wipe away the marker anyway easily since it wasn't permanent so no serious damage done!
