From Dusk Till Dawn (Blu-ray SteelBook) (Uncut Re-Release) [Germany]

Its already available uncut, the UK steel is uncut as is all US editions. Germany cut it, so this isn't a new version its the same one already made in a steelbook

he didnt say, that it's a new version ;) only a cut version was available in Germany, because this movie was banned in Germany. now they unbanned this movie, so they can sell the uncut version here in Germany.

As predicted, i was saying last week we should count on a german 'From Dusk Till Dawn' steelbook, since the movie got removed from the german index recently. If a movie gets removed from the german index, it'll release soon after in various editions.

So on an international site like this for international collectors, it's just a basic re-release we all "should" already own. A new German version is completely irrelevant except to people who only buy German and don't have the Internet. Any REAL film collector buys international and already own this. Emphasising "uncut" is completely pointless.

I collect movies since VHS ages, it's just that i happen to start collecting Blu-ray steelbooks half a year ago, we all started at one point. No chance for me to get the zavvi 'From Dusk Till Dawn' steelbook since it was sold out when i started to collect steelbooks. The existing 'From Dusk Till Dawn' steelbooks in germany are cut, an absolute no go for me. I'm happy i'll get the chance to own this movie now as a steelbook edition, uncut. But some people here are sitting on such a high horse "What? You don't collect steelbooks since day 1? How barbaric, you're not a real collecter".
Even for people who own the zavvi steelbook, the upcoming german edition could be interesting for them as well, it might get a neat new art.
It's definitely not a "completely irrelevant" release, quite the opposite, a new steelbook edition of an awesome movie.

I mean by your logic, no one should care for the new releases of 'Ironman','Captain America' etc. steelbooks, because "real film collecters" already own them, right?

For me steelbooks are no different from first edition comics or vinyl. The original is the only one worth owning. Some see them as a commodity and want re-release after re-release because they refuse to pay collectors prices. I'm against that. Steelbooks to me are "limited editions" and true collectors should seek out those original versions rather than pay for cheaper inferior new versions. We were all new collectors once upon a time, but those serious will seek out those they missed and pay premium for them rather than wait for a cheaper and inferior new version. And yes even if the art is amazing its still inferior to that original release. I don't want a re-print of a comic I want the original same as I do vinyl or steellbook

Not all re-releases of films and music are inferior versions ;)
Some re-releases of films on Blu-ray be it a steelbook or an amaray can have better Blu-ray than previous release as in remastered and new extras making the original release the inferior release.

Some Vinyl re-releases also can be better than the original as in re-mastered sound and extra tracks

I would never pay collector prices for any release unless it's retail price or less or just above retail price
A lot of films and music are now getting remastered releases with new artwork and packaging making the older original release the weaker release.

Some original releases on Vinyl yes are collectors items but some of these have had better repackaged re-releases

I have a lot of original vinyl in my collection (some considered highly collectible) and films but if a re-release comes out that's better that's the version I want even if the original edition in my collection is very hard to get or it's perceived re sale value is high
The value to me of any of my collection is that I have it and what it cost me to purchase not what the possible re-sale value is
Re-releases are normal and will continue and some can end up been better than a previous release.

Why pay £200 for a release for example that was originally sold at £20 when you often have a re-release a few years later that's better than the original and cost less to purchase.

Without re-releases of music and films the industry would not be able to fund new releases of new music artists or new films as they make most of their money from the back catalog by doing re-releases

With all due respect, then why even bother enter this thread if a another release isn't even an option for you? It reads like you just came to bad talk the release and sour the soup for others for their collecting preferences.
HDN gets new threads about new/re-release steelbooks on a daily basis, imagine i'd go to every new thread about a steelbook i don't care about just to spread negativity.

I'll still buy newer versions, but I always make sure I own the orginal release first
