I don't think anybody's moaning about the fact that Zavvi are doing the collection, but more how it's being done. There's lot of discrepancies in terms of what belongs, what doesn't, which artwork is chosen, what finish is given, is it embossed or not, etc. There's no consistency to the collection. I definitely don't want them numbered, but something that actually makes them feel like a collection.

But again, none of the labeling really means anything at the end of the day. I'm just happy to be getting them.

Someone needs to get them to answer though if it is part of it or not...

all zavvi need to do is say its part of the collection, and then its so lol thats the situation right now- release a disney steelbook, say its in a collection. release another one, say thats also in the collection. etc

Loved the film, but gutted the steel isn't 3D! Disney at their greedy best as usual! I bet the price for this will be fairly high no matter who is selling it as Disney are as bad as Sony used to be for making sure stores sell it at a price Disney agree on.

I'm not surprised this isn't 3D, Disney are assholes and want customers to buy Both versions. No point bashing Zavvi as I doubt they will get any say on the matter if this is a standard release.

Here's the thing. The last 4 releases have sold out in a matter of days.
These releases came after the horrors of Planes and Little Mermaid.

What will Zavvi read into this?

One of two things. Either we have no issues, as we buy 4000 in 5 days, or they know our grievances, but they're making too much money off it to care.

None of us here have the balls to start a boycott, cause we don't want to miss out, so it looks like we'll get what we get!

You're right, definitely. Actually, I'm pretty happy with the last 4 releases. They seem to have settled on a consistent aesthetic, which was one of my major gripes about the first few releases. If they continue future releases with the same trend, I'll be happy as they DO feel like part of a collection.

If I had the time, I'd draw up a list of when the titles of have announced.

There doesn't seem to be any pattern, or logic.

Makes waiting for the next one VERY frustrating. GRRR.

When it comes to Zavvi that's the bottom line right there! No one would agree on mass to boycott them as there will always be those that will still buy for fear of not getting them. Hence it's win/win for Zavvi and they know that full well. If it's not a Zavvi exclusive then order from Amazon etc, but Zavvi are getting the odd good exclusive.

Glad to hear it's attracting even those who aren't usually into the Disney fairy tale musical. As for me, that's my all time favorite type of movie, so this was right up my alley and I thought it was perfect.

Just saw the movie tonight. It wasn't really as funny as I hoped - Tangled was a lot better in that sense. But it had its good moments: it's more of an adventure :).

The 3D was nice though, so a skip for me for now.

I kind of hope this one isn't embossed. Anybody else not really a fan of the embossed border on the Disney steels? I don't mind the logo or maybe even the characters, but for some reason I feel like the border makes it look and feel cheaper.

I think a lot of fault lies with Disney.

They're the ones that sign off on the artwork (why pay someone to come up with something new when the old DVD covers will do and the titles sell out?).

Why put the 3D disc in when to most people, it's the packaging that counts? (Not that I agree with this decision).

Why put a DVD in when it'll sell anyway? (not that I agree with this decision either).

Why offer a proper disc replacement for Avengers Assemble or The Little Mermaid when eventually the fuss will die down and you've sold millions of copies anyway? (Again, I don't agree with this either).

And so on and so forth.

They're probably the worst home entertainment company when it comes to QC. Botched transfers, scenes missing/out of order, special features dropped, price-hikes, non-matching packaging, missing/exclusive discs. Besically, if they can get away with doing a half-assed job on their releases they will. It's up to each of us to roll with it or not buy the titles in question. The sad fact is, they know it won't effect their bottom line and that's all (like most companies) they care about.

It blows my mind how much of a problem people seem to have with the look of Little Mermaid. They always go back to that as one the failures of the Disney line. From the second I saw The Little Mermaid Steelbook I had to have it. Its beauty is it's simplicity. That is the release that made me a Zavvi customer and I"ve gotten 9 more friends to shop at Zavvi now and they have so far refused to buy any of the others; only The Little Mermaid. They're all in love with it and think the subsequent releases have inferior, boring DVD artwork. Personally, I want them all (except maybe Planes). I will say that people are putting too much stock into whether Frozen counts as a "Disney Collection" Steelbook or not. The only difference between a "Disney Collection" one and the others is that Zavvi says, "Hey. By the way; this is a Disney Collection release." It's too late for them to ever be uniform, so it really just comes down to whether you want a certain Steelbook or not anyway. Just because I got it from Zavvi doesn't mean that Fantasia isn't going to sit right between Pinocchio and Bambi in chronological order on my shelf. Disney is Disney. I'm just glad we're giving the choice to add these to our collection.
