I've now got one GI charged and one still at pre-ordered, one H&G charged and one pre-ordered, verify buttons appeared once and then went away... I don't know what the hell is going on.

How do you know when your orders have been charged? Doesn't the order status just stay as 'pre-ordered' on the order page even if you've been charged? (Unless an item is in stock, when it changes to 'processing in warehouse'.)

The easiest way to know for certain is to use internet banking.

This situation really does suck for our international members though. Shame ES only ship to UK. This whole situation could be avoided if they shipped worldwide. How hard is it to add shipping costs?

I agree. The amount of work and time we have to put into a GB is quite high, people don't realise just how much until they do one (I certainly didn't) and to have that undone by a flawed system is just so frustrating. Shipping abroad should be an easy thing one would think, but then again we are talking about Play here and they probably make everything difficult for their traders.

OK, so I guess there's no way to tell from the website whether an order has been charged or not, you just have to check with your card issuer.

Incidentally, looking through Play's T&C's it says that no orders of above 5 units are allowed, and that they reserve the right to cancel or suspend an account when orders of over 5 are placed. If ES are bound by Play's trading terms this could potentially be another cause for some of the cancellations?

The limit of 5 is to prevent mass reselling. I would imagine it isn't an issue if you can prove you are buying on behalf of others who can't. This isn't the first GB on play.com so they must allow it.

Seems to be a bit of a mess again reading through this thread, shame really, damn pesky steelbook's..... If i was doing a GB i would lump in the funds just encase these company's decided to do something like this...

No, two of mine have gone to 'Processing in Warehouse' and two remain as 'Pre-ordered'. I have had the two processing ones taken from my bank.

Roverite, some good news for you direct from ES:

"Hi Dan,

There’s a plan from me to stop it, and I can only hope Play do too! Yet more emails have been sent over to them, and we won’t be putting up any further exclusives until they do sort it out. Did your order go through OK or did it cancel?

Roverite’s GB is safe though, as I was able to manually intervene this morning.

Regards,

Luke

Just checked and my 5 orders have been cancelled!! (One for me, one for my brother and three for friends in the States). Why has this happened?

Play have been billing some members early, if you do not have sufficient funds in your account they will cancel them!

Glad you are covered, Roverite!! I can't imagine the relief you feel. Haha!

Oh no, we are friends so it won't be like that, that's why I spoke :)

Ben - good to hear your copies are secure, looks like 80 other people are gonna be upset when their orders are cancelled!

Well you can see he's pissed so he just needs a little time to lash out a bit and not aggravate the situation :)

mate stop rubbing it in man, comeon dude, I know you just as well :)

Why are people giving a fellow member stick? He is trying to help out international members and you have nothing better to do then troll up the thread?
Pathetic

Roverite - hope it works out all ok for you and the other members involved

Thanks guys, I was extremely annoyed this morning. I was up until 1am packaging up copies of Heat and Terminator Salvation for my other GB's, then woke up at 9am to see 70 cancellation emails. Not the best of starts to the weekend, but having spoken with Luke numerous times this morning I am now 100% confident that all of my GB members will get their copies.
