That sucks for all the people who dont have the money right now for them and lost out, my two still say "Pre-ordered" so I guess nothing yet but I do have the money for them in there thank god if they do take it now.

Hi Noel,

Firstly, thank you for your order for the GI Joe 2 steelbook.

For some reason at 6am this morning Play decided to try and take money for the orders from a small number of customers. In some cases that meant that the orders were cancelled due to lack of funds etc, and I'm just working my way through the orders now and contacting customers.

If your order status is 'processing in warehouse' then that means the order is secured and will be shipped for delivery on the day of release in July.

I can only apologise for what seems to be yet another error with Play's payment system.

I emailed them and asked them and was told that they would not do this.

"Thanks for your email.

I can confirm that (barring any IT problems at Play's end) we will not be taking any money from customers until the Monday before release."
 
What I don't understand is why they can't keep the cancelled copies aside for a period of time to try and let the customers resolve the issue before their order is cancelled entirely.
The thing that's annoying me the most is it coming back in to stock for mere seconds so other people who were late to the party can order whereas the people who have had orders cancelled should be given priority to reorder.

cause i still have mine pre ordered and no money has been taken out of my account

The email from Luke said "take money for the orders from a small number of customers" so I would think it was the first lot of people who put a order in have had this the rest of us are ok as long as Play dose not do it again
 
I've also been charged for this today. I'm just glad I was able to pay as I'd have been gutted if it had been cancelled.

I've never had a problem with any of my Play transactions being charged early before. Does anybody know the reason for it happening this time??

I thought there was a limit of 5 per customer?

That's Zavvi's policy, not ES. ES do not have a limit as such.

The 5-per account restriction is part of Play.com's terms and conditions under which ES trade. Clearly it's possible to make one-off special arrangements with ES for the purposes of Group Buys etc. but as all order processing is handled by Play, maybe some of the orders for multiples are being flagged up as being in breach of their T&Cs?

No, because that's Plays rules and not the Play traders. I even asked Luke about quantity restrictions on the Jack Reacher steelbook and he said there isn't any way for them to set any as Play don't set them neither.
 
This store getting these exclusives are really getting on my nerves, I have contacted them and they say to keep an eye on the pre-order section on a day they specify and it does not appear and then appears a day after, even though I check all pre-order sections daily and still not been able to ever pick one up yet, it seems by the time you see them they are alreay not available, I even asked them for if I could be added to a mailing list and they said the only way to do that is you have to place an order and once bought it will give you the option to sign up which is stupid and don't believe it for a minute, if I can never get to place an order how the hell can I sign up for a mailing list???

As other posts the person answering my emails is a guy called Luke

Took me a week of constantly checking mate...
You just have to hope someone cancels their pre-order
 
I've just noticed that mine has also changed from Pre-ordered to Processing in warehouse

Taken from the View order details page

"What does ‘Processing in warehouse’ mean?
We are currently processing payment for your order, which should be completed within 24 hours.
Once payment is complete, we aim to dispatch orders within a further 24 hours.
If we experience problems processing payment we will contact you by email to help you to resolve the problems, if possible."


I'm thinking most of the above is Inaccurate :(
