La FNAC has a nickname in France, La "RNAC", which roughly sounds like "arnaque", meaning "scam".
They better come up with exclusives once in a while given all the money they make off of customers, as they have extremely high prices, sometimes rather incoherent : for instance, a few months ago when I was trying to acquire the X-Men First Class steelbook, it was in a FNAC store for the price of €39.11! When it was new, it was €25, it never was above that. Anyway, I got it at €14.99 on amazon.fr.
Because whenever something isn't new anymore, FNAC don't do their
Prix vert "offer" (which is the normal price in other stores), they just charge above the normal price - unless there's a special offer like 3 for the price of 2.
That's not relevant in this case, because this GI Joe steelbook won't have time to stay in stores for months, but that's how FNAC works. And I don't trust their website, it's a mess and if I want an exclusive of theirs, I always go in the store and I don't wait too long after release.
Since I believe this is an exclusive artwork, FNAC missed out on the opportunity to feature on this steelbook the French actress of the film, Élodie Yung :
Her character as inside artwork would have made this French release even more interesting as it'd have represented a character other countries would definitely not think about featuring on this steelbook. Too bad.
