Well, nobody here seems to notice, but doesn't it look like its G1? Look at the spacing of the 2-disc stacking on the interior (how the lower disc area comes up to the center of the upper disc area). If that is the exact way its going to be stacked, and not closer together, then it has to be G1...anyone else see this??

It's just a model...
Paramount never made any G1 for Bluray and this release is the same worldwide, just for cost reason... They won't be releasing a different size just for one retailer...

I agree with you Kuzco, but there is another detail that can make you think it's a G1, it's the product size on the site :

Product in Inches (L x W x H): 5.5 x 0.5 x 7.44

H = 7.5 = G1
H = 6.7 = G2

I personally think it will be a G2, but let's wait for Wreck's confirmation.

The dog tags aren't included in the packaging. It's a mail-in promotion.

Could have a been a good point actually, but Walmart has all their blu ray steelbooks listed with those product dimensions. They all say 7.44 height, even the ones we know for certain are G2.

I'm in the ES GB for this as i didn't think us in the US would get a steelbook.

I think i might get this and leave the ES one sealed as it will me more limited. Plus i want to support the US steels so we get more in the future, as always importing gets expensive.

It's just as expensive in the other direction. Cameron and Obama have been discussing a free trade deal, similar to the EU. Can only hope it happens soon.

I would totally get this, but it's a bit pointless if I can't get the dog tags in the UK. Got two copies of the ES version at least.

Yes it is a regular release. The one with Rise Of The Cobra is just a regular amaray case in a Two Pack packaging. There is no ROTC packaged with this steelbook from what I can see.

My friendly Walmart store Electronics supervisor thinks that the mail-in offer is very definitely inside the steelbook which would make this one a Walmart exclusive. This would make it a little more challenging for US Ninjas to help out with getting the dog tags.

Actually, using the dog tags for the numbering would have been a really good idea. They could have included them with the steel in some fashion aswell. Having your name on them is a bit naff.

It's a minor quibble about this new Walmart steel, but there is one thing better about the UK ES exclusive.

It appears that the ES one does not have the huge "3D" plastered onto the front cover as part of the artwork.
