So this is worth making the trip to pick up?

It's really $30???

Yes mine was $31.xx with tax I believe the tags said 29.96
I like it but my personal reason on getting was I plan on having ray park "snake eyes" sign it later this year.

It looks like part of the artwork... also I kept wondering why does it have to have "LIMITED EDITION *2013"?

Its def part of the art my pic does not do it justice but wanted to try and help clear up what people were thinking. Mine does have a small chip on the back corner but im ok with it.
Not sure whats with the 2013 but it would have been cool if it was numbered.

all 4 that I got I had to open as I am getting dog tags for 2 other members, but every one has dings or dents. I will have to drive about 45 mins to another store, but hopefully they will have good ones.

Good luck in your search .

At least the website is up and running now for the dog tag redemption.

Just worried it will be plastic :(

Did they check the back for you ?

It's usually the same woman that does the midnight movie shelving, and she usually goes to the back 5 mins till to bring out that large cage/cart that's locked with a key. Out of that thing she starts stocking the shelves with all the movies that are in boxes that have a shelf date on them.

I asked about the GI Joe steel, and she went through all of the boxes inside that cage (which had a good 4 different versions of the dam movie in them), but no luck with the steel. She then called some dude in the back who was gonna bring out a PDR (???) which she said was the main cardboard display for the movie that they put out in the middle of the floor somewhere away from the standard movie racks. She was thinking that they might be on that thing, but no luck there either.

My guess is that someone saw that the movies were really short stocked and hoarded them in the back for themselves somehow. It's just a hunch, but I've never seen another steelbook release not be at that store that they had plenty of copies of. There were a few people/vultures hovering around, asking for a copy, so maybe friends of employees asked for a steel to be held for them. Steelbook collecting is no big secret anymore, and the Union City Walmart is the only 24/7 one for a good many miles around that attracts some pretty big cities of fans to it.

Security tag, bling-bling and high gloss

Folks, beware of the hidden security tag on the back of the data card. If packed too tightly against other SteelBooks, for those who keep this sealed, this tag might cause dents.

Otherwise, this one actually surprised me with its abundance of bling-bling on the front, the back and inside. Plus it feels super smooth from the high gloss finish like the ZD30 SteelBook from Best Buy. I must be one of the few fortunate ones - the Walmart store by me has the display out with at least 12 copies on the top two shelves an hour ago. And all my copies are in mint condition.

The store I went to had 10 on a cardboard GI JOE stand in the electronic section. I would say 8 out of the 10 had spine slashes. They were not through the plastic so, the spine slash epidemic continues! I was hoping this would be around the $25 mark. A tad expensive imo.

I was at work 2 am this morn and around 5 am stopped at the wall and found about 10 at a walmart about 150 miles away from my house lol. No dings or dents or scratches and I was the only one in walmart buying stuff. cost was $30 but got it for $25 thanks fort the lady who felt sorry for me due to all the poison ivy i have

My store had 7 on the GI Joe cardboard display, 5 on the new release endcap, and 5 on the new release shelf just around the corner for a grand total of 17. All looked to be in good condition, but we'll see when I really get to inspect them. Can't wait to have it in hand. First US steel I've had in a while.

Grabbed my copy of this just now and sadly it has 2 small dings in the top. I debated going back to exchange but there is no guarantee the replacement won't have something else wrong with it. Oh well. It's not THAT bad but the OCD in me will probably drive me nuts. Anymore now it's rare to NOT have some small flaw. I just have to get over it. :(

On a positive note - this really is a beautiful steel. The paint almost has glitter in it if you look at it in the sunlight. Plus the fact that it includes 3D is a major plus - helps me feel great about grabbing this one! I didn't realize it was going to be glossy. Are all countries releases glossy?

Jus got mine a few minutes ago and it is dent free. The total was 32.43 all together. Now I will go back to getting the steels with the comic book look on them until star trek into darkness comes out.
