Written by Watanabe Yusuke (Gantz) and directed by Sato Toya (Kaiji), the big-budget adaptation of the superhero saga follows the adventures of a team of superheroes fighting a terrorist group named Galactor. Ayano Go (Rurouni Kenshin), Matsuzaka Tori (Love for Beginners), Goriki Ayame (Kiyosu Conference), Hamada Tatsuomi (Umizaru Brave Hearts) and Suzuki Ryohei (Forbidden Superhero) lead the cast as the superheroes in this sci-fi epic filled with eye-popping special effects and intense action scenes.
In the year 2050, a mysterious terrorist organization called the Galactor declares war on earth and takes over half the world. The survivors are limited to living in poor, restricted areas. To fight the Galactor, five "receptors" armed with an ancient power are brought together to defend the planet. Named the Gatchamen, these heroes may be earth's only hope for victory.
