Seems kind of appropriate . . . scarlet box for Scarlett . . .

Watched this yesterday, and I didn't like it tbh. Sort of similar in quality to Lucy, decent in parts, but overall very forgettable. Stick with the anime.

Watched this last night IMAX 3D
Not seen the Anime version so new to the story.
The visuals and sound were awesome
Story seemed rather recycled though

its ironic because although the story seems cliche now, the original ghost in the shell anime was one of the original A.I films that inspired others afterwards. I mean, without ghost in the shell there would be no matrix.

its a shame the film offers nothing new, besides visual flair

really, my only disappointment with the film is that its not a visceral as the anime, it doesnt have that contemplative pacing. the anime was more direct in communicating philosophies, the characters would go on philosophical monologues. i missed that in the film

For now yes, but 4K is catching up....

I've decided to wait to the end of 2018 or summmer to 2019 to make my official transition mostly because my set up is still running well.

I don't mind owning 4K steels, ready for the next format rather than hunting them down later.

4K will be gone by then, Samsung are already building the coffin. Its failed to attact the public and it needed a huge amount of adopters that aren't interested due to 8K and beyond already being shown publically at shows. 4K isn't "catching up" its even smaller of a niche than 3D.

4K 8k all the same thing. Next generation format that's the key.

Oh and if 4k is as duff as you say it is by the time I make my transition that's good then. I can jump straight to 8k and skip 4k not like I probably notice much difference as I don't have a room for a 100 inch television to make use of 8k lol.

But aren't 3D TVs being discontinued? I think 4K will do fine in a sea of streaming sites, but it won't top 1080p Blu-ray in terms of sales, as the upgrade isn't as notable as the SD to HD leap. Although I don't get the appeal of 3D, I don't want it gone, to me this is a scary thought and a disc format potentially going extinct could quite well spell the end for physical media or be the beginning of the streaming takeover. :(

This is the reason why I do not support download copies that comes with the movies, I support Blu-ray physical copies only. I want to keep on supporting Blu-rays 1080p if I still want them around and not end up disappearing for studios to only start offering download format.

I really liked the film, it seemed a wee mash of Lucy, Lost in Translation and Blade Runner but I really liked it. Scarlett was really good in it and the visuals were stunning.

And you can still sell them as well and make a little buck. Also you cannot show off your movie collection from digital downloads lol

Shame this aint 4K + 3D!
Best Buy SB of Kong will be 4k + 3D. How it should be done!

Oh I agree, but this is a good way for Zavvi and the Studio's to make more money. Just like how Force Awakens never came in 3D and have the collectors release for the 3D release, a blatent money cash cow.
