At Google’s I/O Conference today, the company announced that its Google+ app has been optimized for both Android tablets and Apple’s iPad, bringing a new navigation system and Hangout video chats designed for bigger screens.

This announcement comes after a long drought of tablet updates. Google’s iPhone Google+ app was recently revamped, but the iPad update was kept under wraps until this morning.

If you have one of Apple’s third generation iPads, you will soon be seeing the app in high definition – the app has been made Retina ready.

Google also detailed how its social networking site is faring. The company has 250 million total users, 150 million monthly users, and 75 million daily users, with the majority of those users accessing the site from mobile devices.

The new Google+ will introduce Events, which is an invitation system that integrates with Google’s calendar, and in addition to a new navigation system, users will also find new notifications and a better profile design.

While Android users can download the updated app today, the iPad app is not quite ready. Google says that it is coming “soon,” so keep an eye out for the updated version.
