Gov't Report Offers Evidence Cannabis is a Wonder Drug for Cancer and Good Health

I already know that since HIGH school. I did an extensive research.

Ditto. In 1995, i did my senior report and the effects and medicinal properties of Marijuana. There are still many people who like our own gov't for the most part, still view it as nothing more than a drug, like Cocaine and such. Here's to hoping it'll once again be legal, like it was back in the day, and people will be able to take advantage of it's full effects for helping and treating many different ailments.

Marijuana weed or what ever you want to call is a DRUG and it leads to crime and harder drugs its a additive drug not should never be made legal.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, for sure. I've smoked weed for 20 years now, and have never once snorted coke, smoked crack or meth, or anything else of that sort. It leads to whatever you want it to lead to. Just like people who drink. Some people can control themselves and enjoy a beer or two with friends, while others move onto nothing but hard liquor and drink like a fish everyday of the week. Alcohol has no medicinal purposes whatsoever, and thousands and thousands die each year from dui's and other alcohol related accidents. Marijuana can be mentally addictive to some people i suppose, but it's definately not a physically addictive drug like the other things it tends to get discussed with, like crack and such.

The only thing I do not agree with is the Medical Marijuana cards that are given out to anybody that wants them. My brother in law got one for a bad back, yet he seems to be able to fix roofs, paint houses. Also adds to his income about 3000.00 a month growing and selling. If they are going to use Marijuana for Medication, they need to treat it as such. I can't make the medication I need everyday in my house. They should have to get REAL prescriptions like everybody else.

For me it's more about relaxation. I spend $60 on 1/8 of weed, and it lasts me a month or so. I smoke just enough to catch a buzz and relax, which is about 2 or 3 hits. I use to like to drink when i was in my early to late 20's, but quickly grew tired of the bar scene, and also the hangovers and just overly ****** feeling alcohol gave me. I still drink a few times a year, socially with friends, or pick up a 6 pack of beer every now and again, but i just prefer my herb. It'd be nice if it were used properly medically, since it's found to help with seizures, cancer, glaucoma, and many other ailments, and it's not physically addictive or nearly as harmful, as pills and such which are currently being prescribed. I can personally care less if it's outright legalized or not. You can go to pretty much any town, anywhere in the US and it's readily available.

Ricker can he legally grow it then?

Each person issued a Medical Marijuana Card is allowed to grow 5 plants for PERSONAL use. But you know most are going to take advantage of that. They should not be allowed to grow any, if it's for Medication it should be handled like medication. They are trying to legalize in Maine this year. I hope it does not go through. To me it is no different than alcohol and I do not want to be on the road with a bunch of high drivers.

Even though I don't smoke it anymore, I think it should be legalized and then people won't have to sneak around with it anymore. Also people will have a choice whether to use it or not.

I think it should be a controlled product meaning it should still be tested against in the work place. Also that all smoking whether it be cigarettes or weed should be restricted from minors under the age of 21 and absolutely no smoking on school property. I would rather my kids be studying their books, and not behind the gym somewhere getting high on Mary Jane.

As far as impairing your judgement to drive, it doesn't impair peoples judgement the same as alcohol does. But all the same if the government said don't smoke and drive I wouldn't be against it.

That's my .02 worth on the matter.

AcIDCOR3 where do you draw the line on DRUGS tho if you legalize and control one drug why not legalize them all?
Us far impairing your judgement to drive well anything that as a control on your mind is surely effecting your driving and concentration levels.
I personally have never touched any drug nor will i. I get my rush from triathlons.

The only problem i have with testing in workplaces on a substance which was otherwise legal, is marijuana can stay in some peoples systems for up to 90 days after they smoke it. If they are going to do that, they should also test to see how many of their said employees still have alcohol in their system from their night out before. I agree with keeping it away from kids and having the same type of laws they have in place with alcohol.

Sixteenvolt420 do you worry about getting arrested doesnt the USA have tough laws on drugs?
No, i don't worry. Simple possession is nothing here, usually just a little probation. You'd be surprised how many upstanding citizens of communities smoke marijuana. Some states where it isn't legal, even only give people a small fine if they only possess 1/4 of an ounce or less, no probation, no jail time.

Hence why I said give people the choice whether to smoke weed or not. All drugs are not the same. Cocaine, Heroine and the like are habit forming and addictive therefore need to be controlled and illegal but I'm also not saying that weed should not be controlled as well, just legalized as well as controlled.

Everybody has there niche, you have your running some people get there high from riding roller coasters, some people read a good book and some people smoke weed. That's why I firmly believe they should be given the choice.

Same with alcohol.

My fellow peers who smoke marijuana have to be the stupidest people I know.

FYI

When I said this I didn't mean they are stupid for smoking marijuana, but the other way around.
Their seems to be a correlation b/w smoking marijuana and slow reflexes/thinking. I used to know a pothead who was taking basic Algebra for the third time, and other potheads with similar cases.

Oh yeah, i agree. It makes some people really stupid. It's grown to the point anymore though that there are many different buzzes that you can get from smoking it.
