This film seriously needs a new transfer it looks pretty poor on Blu-ray at the moment. Not even the most amazing steelbook in the world is going to make me buy this unless it's improved, especially at this joke of a price.

Way too many release. We are heading towards saturation level with these. Having said that the Thor release was a nice bonus as I missed it on it's original release a few years back. Bet it'll piss of the ebay sellers.

I concur, the film needs a fresh transfer.
The steelbook will have to be something really special for me to purchase it.
If it's another matte steel with paint chips and spine slashes no thanks.

if it had been 1&2 then maybe @ 19.99 but even at that they done kill bill 1&2 for cheaper so pass for me too...
I am going to have to say no to these latest releases, just too many Zavvi. EEK!
If its is 20 then zavvi should put gremlins 2 in there as well would make it a little more worth the money could have a gremlins 1 pic on the front and gremlins 2 on the bk would be pretty cool
Should have been both films for £14.99 like The Kill Bill release.

Agree with all above.

As much as I love the movie, I wont be buying until I can get a double movie pack.

Never seen that Christmas tree design before. That would make for a unique steel!

same.
Would be perfect if the xmas light border and gremlins in the tree silhouette were de-bossed...never gonna happen with Zavvi mind.

It's been a LONG time since I've seen this movie. Unless this steelbook is something special or at least includes both Gremlin movies, I think I'll pass on it for now. Classic 80s flick though. Love the 80s! :scat:

Hope that price is just a placeholder as with a lot of catalogue releases. Looking forward to seeing the artwork on this one, great movie. Maybe the gremlins in the theater for the inside art?

This was the first film I bought on VHS, when I was about 10, so I'm really excited about a steelbook. But that excitement doesn't stretch to Zavvi's price point. Sainbury's are selling catalogue titles for £11.99, which is where this needs to be pitched.

It seems to be relatively easy to secure most of these exclusives on ebay after release, sometimes like Commando for a substantial discount. I'll take my chances latter on with this one I reckon.

Is it me or do others get the impression that someone from Zavvi is reading this forum, taking note of each title that is requested and then producing a Steelbook? I remember that Gremlins was touted in The Goonies thread and surprise surprise it pops up a few weeks later :hilarious:

In that case I demand a Masters of the Universe with this cover!

+1 One of my other worn out VHS tapes was Flight of the Navigator. I'd take that in steel form for an injection of 80's nostalgia.
