Yeah, they need to 4K that Extended Cut, so we can have both versions in 4K. Otherwise, it's not worth to buy again and again.

Is the Television Cut the same as the Extended one? Or is that just cut down for TV in terms of gore or something?
It's just that ViaVision steelbook includes a disc with what they call a Television version...

Yes Extended is the TV Cut it's the Film in HD with the TV additional scenes inserted
12 minutes of additional scenes
It was Blu-ray disc only in the previous Scream Factory 3 disc collector's edition release and included as a extra on Disc 3

DISC THREE (Blu-ray):

  • Original Blu-ray Color Timing Presentation
  • Vintage Interview With Producer Moustapha Akkad
  • Halloween: A Cut Above The Rest” Featurette
  • Halloween – The Extended Cut In HD (TV Inserts Are In Standard Definition)
  • The Broadcast Television Cut (In Standard Definition, 1.33:1)
  • Horror’s Hallowed Grounds – A Look At The Original Filming Locations
  • Horror’s Hallowed Grounds Bus Tour From The Halloween Convention

The Amazon Exclusive SteelBook does not include Disc 3

The TV Version Additional Scenes though are included in the extras on the Blu-ray disc so you can still watch those additional scenes on their own

You not going to see the extended cut also known as TV Cut get a release on 4K UHD disc as it's only a few additional scenes and the quality of the tv scenes is not good enough to be upgraded to 4K
This is why extended aka TV cut previously only got a release on DVD and Blu-ray
The extended cut is just the film in HD with the TV additional scenes inserted in standard definition
