Response from ES about the finish they are going for on this release:

There’s an emboss on the title treatment, gloss varnish on the front, cutting out the characters and a dull varnish covering the back.

The red text and red image on the back is also a pantone red, which should be a bright pillar box red.

This is weird. Got my copy today but, as you can see from the photo, the back slip is torn INSIDE the seal. Don't want to send it back if they are out of stock but not that happy either. Thoughts?

I'll contact them regardless. Just windered if others had had problems.

If you are thinking of getting this steelbook, I highly recommend the Taiwan edition if you cannot find one of this UK edition.

Further to my earlier post about my ripped slip (under the pristine shrinkwrap), ES offered me an exchange or a partial refund of £5. I'd have rather had the exchange if they could guarantee I got a good copy, but the lady I spoke to said that she didn't have stock to hand so had no way of knowing the condition of the remaining few.

Bearing in mind the fact their remaining stock probably includes a bunch of returns (as I saw a number of people with scratches to the steelbook itself etc) I figured I'd just go with the refund. As my steelbook is mint and it's only the slip that is damaged. Rather keep the undamaged steel than risk getting a perfect slip but scratched case.

Guess it gives me more of an excuse to bust this one open for a watch too.

Very helpful service from ES though - first time I'd used them so I can't really fault them.

EDIT: Hmmm, can't seem to find this on the collection manager - does it need adding?
