Horrible news..... was really looking forward to a GB3 at some point if they could ever get Bill Murray on board (why is he so stubborn?). Oh well, doesn't matter now I guess.

RIP Egon.

I was crushed when i heard about this too. Very sad indeed. My fave Ghostbuster.

That aside, Ramis was a great director too with some memorable movies under his belt.

He will be a huge loss to the comedic world.

I think they should give it a rest.

Perhaps a reboot would be in order. But cotinuing without Ramis & Murray is just like rubbing salt on this open wound.

I'd take a Ghostbusters 3 that's headed by Dan Aykroyd and Ivan Reitman over a reboot or remake any day of the week. It'd be more disrespectful to recast Egon than not have him altogether, in my opinion. A new Ghostbusters WILL happen eventually, no doubt about it. It's best to have one of the co-creators on board than none at all.

Here's the tribute art that IDW Publishing put together:

It's not often an actor can take a role and have it be iconic. I remember seeing Ghostbusters when I was younger (when it was a "new" movie - showing age here!), and I absolutely loved the characters. It's hard to lose an actor that brought such joy to many as an actor and director. You will be missed Mr. Harold Ramis!
