just contacted zavvi and they told me the release date is is go to be on the 4 June 2014 but could not tell me when it will go live

I would not go by that answer they gave you Customer Service staff would have just looked at what the website date listing was


As this is not live yet I expect the release date ending up been changed to later in June or July

Is this, Pinocchio and the last 2 unnamed steelbooks going to be delayed? The release date is only 3 and a half weeks away and we still don't see any art or more preorder slots. Anyone have any additional information? I feel like contacting Zavvi for more info but I feel like any effort would be futile.

If this is supposedly being released on the 4th of June as advertised, then Zavvi are certainly cutting it a bit fine to make this live for pre-orders! I don't know about you guys, but I personally don't like pre-ordering things only three weeks before release - especially when they haven't even bothered to provide us with any artwork!

The 4th of June is also a Wednesday, which seems a bit odd. Possible tentative release date implying an inevitable reschedule to a later date, perhaps?

Yup, really starting to think this and Pinocchio are going to get shunted back, especially #19 and #20. Probably for the best too, always too many pegged for the same day and as you say, Wednesday isn't right either.

I'm expecting these to be pushed back, which I would prefer.
There's a chance it could go ahead if they get the art sorted and pre-orders up real soon, but it doesn't seem likely this close to the release date.

I wouldn't be surprised if these are pushed back, what with the O-Ring Villain editions being released in early June... It would seem counter-intuitive for Disney to release two separate editions alongside each other - there aren't many people who would be willing to double-dip, especially those who have already bought these films as a standard Blu-Ray and who are already replacing them with SteelBook versions

I've been saying this for a while now - really dont see any of the 4 steels being released for 4th June
