Steelbook & Collecting FAQ's:

Q: Where can I find a list of Steelbooks released?

A: blu-raysteelbooks.com

Q: Can I play movies contained inside Steelbooks on my Blu-Ray Player?

A: It depends-Blu-Rays are coded with Region A, B or C. Most Blu-Rays are "unlocked", regardless of what region they are, but it's always a good idea to check this forum or web resources before buying, as some are "locked".

Q: What are the differences between Steelbooks™, Iron Packs™, Metal Paks™, Viva Metal Boxes, Tins, etc?

A: Check out pics and discussion in our forum here

Q: What does "G1" and "G2" mean when discussing Steelbooks?

A: "G1" (1st Generation) refers to a Blu-Ray in a DVD-sized case. And "G2" (2nd Generation) refers to a Blu-Ray in a Blu-Ray-sized case.

Q: How to fix a loose disc on a steelbook you want to keep factory sealed that came with a floater?

A: Fixing a loose disc

Q: How do I navigate international shopping sites?

A: You can download a free 'add on' for most browsers called 'Google Translate'. Once you have it installed, the pages will translate automatically.

Q: I have many more questions-is there a general list of links to help me learn about Steelbooks, protecting them, etc?

A: Yes, here

I would not mind at all a 3 per household limit on some of the rarer items we are seeing these days. I hate having to pay three times the price for something, but if i really want it i don't really have much choice.

ordering from amazon germany

hi I am looking to order 5 blu rays from amazon Germany, as I have never ordered from there before, how much does it cost for items to be shipped to uk also are there any extra charges to your card etc when ordering from Germany thanks

Shipping cost I believe is 7 Euros and there are no import or customs charges as Germany is part of the EU. In future you may be better posting in the Retailer thread.

I'm having a bit of a problem with amazon de. I ordered kill bill, sin city,Paul and avengers. But I think what it's done is it's going to dispatch with avengers. Even tho they are in stock. I was going to cancel but they have increased in price. Anyone got any ideas?

Did you order them so they are attached as one delivery. Meaning did you select a option under delivery where to save cost on postage they will be sent altogether. I know there is a option where you can order as they come available....

Cancel The Avengers and the rest of the items will dispatch immediately.

Yeah might do that. I was thinking I would be paying 2 shipping costs. Because kill bill although it says it's in stock I get a message to say they will email me when it's available.

Just wanted to share a story here with you guys:
A member here bought from me some items back in June via one of my GB's. I've sent the package on June 12, 2012 to Europe via Canada Post International Air.

Back in July, he comes back to me saying that he still didn't receive the package. First thing first, I check the dates. We should be good, he should have received the package. Then... looking at his current adress and the one in Paypal where he did his purchase... OHOH!!!! It's his OLD adress...
I ask him to go see at his old adress and ask the new owner if maybe... well unfortunately... no luck...

Then, I ask him to be patient... maybe... you know... but not big chances since it's an international parcel...

Well... guess what? The package came back to me today!!! How amazing is that? :oohyeah:

How about a FAQ that states international shipping and provide a complete list of stores/sites that will tell you whether some places ship internationally or not.

We all know the Amazon sites do ship internationally, but play.com does not. HMV.com does and Futureshop does not either....etc. Maybe in a format like this:? Also add the country region, just so newbies can know the default one and they can decide to see if that steelbook will be free, A,B or C. as well as DVD regions for those combos 1-7. We can also provide a hyperlink for the default site too. Sorry that this was a long one, but this would be helpful IMHO.

Which sites have international shipping and which do not? Here are the regions below.

International shipping:
1. Amazon.com (A) (1)
2. HMV.com (B) (2)

No International shipping:
1. futureshop.ca (A) (1)

As far as I know, Blufans is a Chinese forum that negotiates exclusive steelbooks with Scanavo China with very limited print runs

You can't buy directly from there, you have to go through a group buy, which Hi Def Ninja offers once you have 30 posts

Hope you enjoy the site :)
