:naughty:
"We're officially out of administration and under new ownership. The whole team's working hard behind the scenes to bring you the new and improved hmv. A new website and digital services, a rebooted Pure rewards scheme, and a fresh approach to our stores are all in the works."
:naughty:

Hopefully this means more exclusives thus more different artwork used. I don't mind paying £20-25 for a steel if its limitied & postage is good. With HMV you can always pick steels up in store & I never got a damaged one in there cardboard mailers.

This is good news about the website, more competition can only be a good thing for us as buyers!

hmv is a good company indeed but with all these uk steel producers (zavvi especially) injecting the market with sooo many new titles is it a good thing if they decide to continue steel production?
as a collector i wanna own everything
but even buying one per day doesnt cover up any lost ground LOL

I was hoping HMV would just go away. Sending steels out in envelopes with bubblewrap that is deflated. Seriously I had 10 of those bubble mailers and when you stacked them on top of each other it was about 1 inch high. Its almost as if they took the bubblewrap mailers and compressed all the air out of them.

Out of the 10 Hunger Games I ordered only 2 were acceptable.

I agree on pricing, ESPECIALLY for shipping and especially now that Zavvi have taken over and upped their game. 8 quid per steelbook to Countries outside of the UK is just absurd.

I think that Zavvi deserve our custom, especially with all the great exclusive STEELBOOKS and the new packaging! Saying that It's great the HMV have been saved :)

DOOMSDAY!!

It is still a mystery how Zavvi can afford such low shipping rates. 8 per Steelbook is not too high. How much does it cost to send 1 Steelbook from your country to the UK and how many retailers offer good deals? It costs $12 to ship a single Steelbook from USA to Europe.

 This is great news, I like buying media in a store, and hopefully they'll continue with their exclusive steelbooks.

Unfortunately, I feel this move is just delaying the inevitable. I'm not really sure how they can forever continue to make profit from declining physical media sales, and I'm even more surprised they are removing the likes of tablets and iPod docks from their stores. In truth, I feel they'll fail very soon.

It's all relative. It costs $17 to ship a steelbook from Australia to the UK. But I was never willing to pay HMV's 8GBP per steelbook when Zavvi were charging 99p. It doesn't cost 8 pounds per steelbook to ship out of the UK to Australia, that's for sure. A friend of mine at the start of the year sent me 6 steelbooks in a box, I believe he paid 12 pounds.

Some may argue that Zavvi's shipping packaging wasn't worth the cheap prices. I disagree, since I never received a single damaged item. I like limited edition goods, but I also like affordable prices. To me, 8 pounds per item isn't affordable if you'd like to buy 5-10 steels a month - I'd rather miss out.
