I think people are just cautious, once you have seen a couple of G1 releases somewhere you want to make sure that it is G2 size.

That, and the mock-ups always look rubbish and stretched.

With Fox intent on releasing every catalogue title they own the rights to, i'm sure these will get a UK release at some point. Probably a few months after most have bought the amaray versions

Something else, why is it the second film has French in the title and yet for this French edition, they adopt English text? Just curious. We moan about English titles in French, etc.

Yep, we're pretty weird.

In the spirit of the original title, we should've called it "Hot Shots Partie Two", but alas, it's just "Hot Shots ! 2"

The steelbook would suffer from too much text on it, imo, it's better that way.

And we don't adopt English text, we just used the title of the original with "2" next to it. This minimalist choice doesn't shock me ; there have been worse decisions - translating "Hot Shots" in French would've been one.

Having just "1 & 2" doesn't take up much space, and overall it's a fine looking steelbook. I shall purchase it.

I love that these films and Anchorman are getting steelbook editions, comedy has always been an underserved genre in the steelbook format. Hopefully more cult US comedies are on the way, such as an Airplane/Airplane 2 steelbook and Naked Gun trilogy steelbook.

If Zavvi were releasing this films, they would do it in separate steelbook at 19euros each.
I'm glad we have nice releases in other places.

This is a must buy for fans of this saga.

I tried to buy this, but when i was at the confirm order section, it said the cost was £20.05 and £6 postage!

Not sure how 19.98 euros translates to £20.05, and £6 postage from france to uk? :O

EDIT: Seems the chrome translator literally just changed it from euros to pounds LOL, total is 26 euros
