Finally got around to watching my I Am Legend steelbook. Really cool movie, just wish the vampires/mutants were designed better (less CGI).

And the original ending is much better then the alternate... not sure what the other differences are though.

Great minds... ;)

That's the reprint that would still be in stock. I doubt that the original release could still be found in stores, but one could always get lucky.

it is definitely the reprint/reissue. I am sure thats the one I have.
I'm not sure how much of a different there is between the two though are the noticeable? Or just different release dates?

Another big difference is price. Be ready to shell out up to a few hundred dollars for a mint sealed copy of the original.

Ive see the first release on ebay for 500.
Def. not worth it for me. I am happy with the 2nd release personally.

There's an opened one with some paint damage on the Bay right now at almost $200 BIN (#310339064919). Wow, never realised this one was that sought after!

This was my first steelbook and the one that got it all started for me :)

I am quite glad the earlier releases are holding there value despite re-releases. I know a lot of people think this one doesn't deserve to be valued as high as it is but Im glad its still holding on.

Does anyone know if this was one the first bluray G2 steelbooks ever released along with Pans Labyrinth from Germany that I know was the first one. I was an early adopter of bluray (actually HD-DVD first at the time and thought for sure it was going to win the format war :hilarious: Even bought the hd-dvd attachment for my xbox 360 at the time... sadly I sold all of it for very cheap once the format war was decided.... regret that now as some of them are very rare now /end rant, lol) and I know I got into steelbooks a little bit around the same time but am not sure if this is possibly one of the first of the bunch to be released as a G2 bluray steelbook... Is it possible this was Canada's first bluray G2 steelbook ?

It's a shame tho, the movie is good and I really like Will Smith.

Now that I think about it, I don't have any steels of his movies! Well except for Independance Day but it's still on its way and it's a IronPack so technically not a steel.
