Just signed up to say thanks, really. Found this thread while looking for a steelbook of In Time.
Agree about the lack of inner art being shoddy presentation.
Then I found Stuntastik30's damn fine thread on modifying steelbooks.
Had a barmy idea.
NB: As my post count is below eight I cannot hyperlink Stuntastik's thread or include an image, so have attached the image.
I found the matched pair of promo posters for In Time, got the highest resolution images of each I could find, cropped them to remove the title and release date from the bottom of the poster while getting them as near as possible to 167mm by 133mm while retaining the aspect ratio (tedious but worth it).
While the prints were drying (only because of hi quality printing on thin paper), I used Stuntastik30's instructions to pop the steels off my book, then cut & trimmed the prints, slid them into the steel covers (lightly finesse the corners of the prints so they curve down), popped them back on to the book (front cover first), and the result is as you hopefully see in the photo.
Apart from the initial terror

, the covers do come off easily and without creasing or chipping. Possibly a workable solution for other plain inner steelbooks.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.
