A little fun for long-time or new collectors, alike :oohyeah:

In considering the year, feel free to include DVD Steelbooks in your answer.

Have fun! :scat:

Bought my first BD steelbook back in 2009 (TF Revenge of the Fallen FS Edition) but only started collecting for real in late 2010 when I started buying some Disney from Ebay when they were still affordable and that I thought 40$ for Monsters Inc was high! EEK!...

Old memories... :D

Video Game steelbooks: Since Halo 2

Never had any DVD steelbooks (although I had a couple Collector's Editions)

Blu-Ray Steelbooks: Fall 2010
Went in full gear in 2011-2012
Now toned down and back in 1st Gear: 2013

My first blu ray steelbook was ... The HMV Exclusive of "2012".. I scratched it, opening the cellophane with a knife . That was the first rule of steelbook collecting I learnt.. :joy: & now I am Hooked...

End of 2011 for me. Black Hawk Down (DE 1st ed.) got me hooked. Picked up the Disney FS/BB wave titles since I wasn't collecting then. Then more and more. I thought I'd be done at 100, but that milestone was passed long ago it seems.

Newbie a year ago but with the Avengers Viva metal case from Best Buy. Just now learning about region free and region A places that will ship to the US.

Been collecting blu-rays for a while, but just became interested with steelbooks when I joined this site a few months ago.:)

In 2011 I bought Blade with a few others outside of the forum. Once I joined HDN I signed up with Drum's GB for the whole set of Harry Potters with the Harry Potter collectible steelbook shelf. From then on I was hooked. I believe the next one was the German edition of Shooter.

Collecting per se it was in September last year (although I thought it was October, lol). My first one was The Dark Knight (DE), in January, but the seller I got it from sent me the incorrect version, so I returned it.

So I waited a long time before I could find the version I wanted again, which happened to be in early September. Man, I still remember the feel of it in my hands. For me, who hadn't been able to collect even DVDs because I was broke, having a Steelbook as one of my first BDs was a thrill.

The rest is history.

Started collecting in 2012, first steelbooks I bought were Drive(HMV) and then went a bit crazy and probably overpaid trying to get the ones I really liked like The Dark Knight(FS) and Inception. I've got about 50 altogether with some just bought to boost my collection like 10,000 BC. Probably a bit more choosy about what I buy now though and try and find a bargain if I can so I don't pre order anymore. I've got 1 digibook so far which is The Sting and would like to get more of those.
