I've said this before but I don't think this is (relatively) an expensive hobby, look how much money people can blow on Pokemon cards, sports/non-sport trading cards, cars, comics, art, sneakers or whatever, 4 figures for one of a handful of top tier grails isn't really much for the deep pocket folks.

Despite saying that I'm still having a hard time seeing the Manta set gaining much value over its already inflated figures, I'd just expect it to boost the speed that the Weet set catches up, which is a shame really, if they'd just been able to double or triple production numbers that would have helped reintroduce some sanity to the prices and not see so many get cut from GBs.

Hello everyone.
I'm here and I already have what was bought from someone. But never participated in a GB. How could I join here?

Look, I get the frustration with the preorder price — it's steep, no argument there. But dragging my name into this conversation years later, complete with slurs and venom, isn't going to change market prices or bring back the old group buys.

I stopped organizing them after spending countless days/weeks coordinating, listing, chasing payments, handling logistics, and dealing with endless demands; all for next to zero personal gain (minimal, lets just put it that way I would make more flipping burgers for the same time) . Some of you were genuinely appreciative (a few even tipped generously for the effort), and those people never seem to be the ones complaining now. Funny how that works.

The reason other forums run larger group buys at prices higher than what I used to charge which was retail plus transaction fees is simple: the mods there ban toxic behavior on sight. No endless snark, no abuse, no flip-flopping from "please help me" to "you are a PoS" the second favors stop. This place has a very patient owner who lets a lot slide—probably more than most would.

For the record, I am not the one flipping Interstellar Mantas or Fight Club for $3K+. That's some of the same "righteous collectors" in these circles driving those prices. Market dynamics, supply/demand, greed, call it what you want.

I heve moved on. I suggest the rest of you do too instead of necro-dragging old drama. If anyone wants to discuss actual releases or hobby stuff civilly, I am around. Otherwise, peace out.

Throwback: Check this old Manta Lab Interstellar group buy tracker spreadsheet I ran on HDN — 59 OC's facilitated, plus 16 FS, 51 LS, and 39 DLS variants (that's well over 283 total copies, coordinated and shipped to participants across 20+ countries).

P.S: I don't have two sites. Would make no sense to sell for lower prices on one vs the other. Use your common sense.

@Aniv Hey I did join your GB for Interstellar. Thank you again for your help in the past for ninja's, it was truly appreciated by me

Hopefully means we might see more units direct, or will this just see GBs get bigger allocations?
they should do a timed preorder phase :coffee:

You'd hope so right?

I agree. A pre order registration from WeET direct should be set up to cope with online interest outside group buys.
With this one I managed to secure a group buy on a second round. Do I wish it'd be easier direct with a pre order... absolutely.
These companies clearly have the means, the interest and the time to take direct registered interest. Why don't they do it?
