Sent Tony an email yesterday asking if he could either re-ship or refund me and got a reply from him today saying he's going to refund me and that if I do ever end up receiving it to let them know.

I feel bad about asking for the refund because I don't think this is anyone other than Border Force's fault, but it's been over a month since they received my letter telling them not to destroy my copy and they haven't even bothered to acknowledge that they received it. Unfortunately $53.80 is more than I feel comfortable just writing off as a loss.

When I have the time I'm definitely going to be sending a strongly worded email to the Border Force complaints email (complaints&[email protected]) about the complete lack of response (despite having paid £6.40 just to send a letter to them in time for their ridiculous response deadline!).

sent my reply back to BF pretty much the day after i received it telling them not to destroy it, they received the letter (as i sent it recorded) but still nothing, they just don't seem to want to reply, they probably burnt/sold them the day after they were confiscated and hoped nobody would complain, and now they just are hoping it will be forgotten, it's easy enough to ignore a letter, hence why there is no email or telephone contact numbers

Border Force is part of the Home Office, I am pretty sure that they don't just destroy goods and hope nobody complains.

Following this thread, I can't believe how poorly customers are being treated on this one....I count myself lucky that I missed out on the GB and picked one up on eBay

Hi, exact same situation for me too. I can't lose that £ so will email Tony tomorrow. No reply at all from BF. They got my letter on 30 Dec!

They received mine on the 30th as well, unfortunately at this point I think it's extremely unlikely we're ever going to see the Steelbooks, especially considering the lack of reply.

I've just received my refund from Tony - good service on his part considering all of this mess is Border Force's fault.

Does that mean Tony didn't send BF the required documentation?
All it means is that Border Force haven't replied to anyone including him and Tony thought we'd waited long enough to see if the Steelbooks would turn up or not so did an extremely decent thing and refunded us despite none of this being his fault.

I bought one on ebay that arrived today, haven't opened it yet.

I think, for me, it was worth paying extra to save the problems so many people here have faced. Within the EU - is it only the UK that's suffered like this? I don't recall any other countries complaining of goods being confiscated.

To the best of my knowledge it's people in the UK only that had theirs confiscated, yes.

I don't understand the hype for this steel. I personally would rather have the UK Iron Man steel over this, but to each his own.
