hi digitalbabe thanks for the response, have decided to go with my gut on this one and save my cash.
If i remember right other secret releases such as thor tales of asgard animated steel as a hidden one with a zbox and when people found out they went nuts,
which in that case i think a lesson was taught by zavvi, its just some people have short memories here.
i know they don't give you all the info, sometimes i think they do that quitely to there suiting, which is a shame really.
i just wonder how many will order on the hype of it maybe, but as you say it is down to indivuals.
shame we all could not get together on mass here at hdn and force there hand a bit more and show the power of hdn on mass as a community.
but have seen in the past when many have said that is a rip off be whatever that is but then in the same sentence say but i have to order it.
worst case if it is something i can't live without which i highly doubt it will always appear on flea bay. i would get it later from there.
unfournately this is just another ploy by zavvi to buy there dreaded z-boxes which they seem determined to push on users whether they want them or not.
look at the avengers with lenti as on example. then to release the steel afterward.
no experience on this means i will never order a zbox as the contents are so poor for the money and no matter how they try and force them on us, for me this will never happen.
also another bad one from zavvi of late is star wars put it up at £16.99 cannot order the put the price up to £21.99 and then allow people to pre-order, i suspect this is so they can drop the price in time and tell us what a wonderful saving they are giving us another marketing trick.

Hey Basil, thanks for your note. I can confirm it is not an animated film. Every retailer reveals what they are can or wish to do based on sales goals-that is their prerogative. It is also the customer's prerogative not to order if they feel the info is not adequate for them. Sometimes studio restrictions forbid advance announcements based on their own requirements as retailers can get into a world of trouble breaking those agreements. And at other times it is simply a matter of a promotional decision that is tried out-there is immense competition for Steelbook designs and releases all over the world vs several years ago. Every retailer is under pressure to move their stock, and all kinds of promotions are created to try to keep things competitive and interesting. As already mentioned many times over the years, it is the retailers' ultimate decision what to release, and how to market it. Customers always have a choice on whether to "go along for the ride" and have fun with the hype, or choose not to.

It's not the new fantastic four as HMV have just announced an exclusive steelbook. I personally think it's hulk he's the only renegade type of character I can think of that it will realistically be.
I hope it's not hulk as we have it

I won't get this locked in SteelBook/ZBOX combo. Creating a false hype is nothing new in retail but the way Zavvi appears to be forcing customers to buy a product they do not want or desire is reprehensible. I have defended Zavvi a few times when I thought what was posted was wrong but if this becomes the norm then I will stop doing so.

I think someone on Twitter released the news a touch early then took down their tweet. I knew I'd seen something but thought I was the only one for a second. Got me thinking that I might have dreamt it. How sad would that be?
I am not sure of the outrage here and believe me if you search my posts I am someone who's had endless problems with zavvi.
However in the past people have complained about the zboxes, I have read the comments on many sites "...it be cool if they put something like a mystery steelbook inside..."
Then when they actually do it everyone is enraged and even seem people tweeting the bbcwatchdogs.
I am sorry I am missing something here. On many occasions they have done mystery disney steelbooks and often you had to just order and then hope it was something you wanted (that's the point of a mystery) then they were revealed and you could cancel or keep. I think they will release what it is and if not, then they are to be honest not forcing anyone to order them. They are just creating like so many other geekboxes etc, it's a mystery if you don't want to risk, then don't order. I don't see that's it's really the worst thing that they have done.

It's still possible that it could be Fantastic 4, maybe an exclusive of a 3d copy like what happened recently with the newest Transformers movie which had different exclusive versions at Zavvi and Entertainment Store.
The last Star Trek movie also had different exclusives at ES and Amazon.
That being said I'm convinced it's Iron Man and the message on Twitter was posted too early for Zavvi's liking
Could be right but I find it a bit strange that it was a 'before' picture similar to that you would get from HDZeta, and others, and not the usual front picture from Zavvi. Of course I may be proved wrong in days to come but whatever the outcome I hope it's available without the ZBOX.
There is no 3D version of Fantastic 4 so that is not going to happen (apparently the conversion budget was spent on trying to salvage the film).
I still think that there is a good chance that it could be the 'Vison' Avengers 2 Steel or the Iron Man lenti if it is still happening.
I lost interest in the movie after the first terrible trailer so didn't know there wasn't a 3d version. Definitely not very likely to be FF then
Yeah since the one we got was so bloody bad
The Walkman concept was a good idea but what's the point if they aren't going to use the actual walkman Peter uses in the film.
