I really enjoyed it Paul.

Some might not like the style (has an 80's horror feel to it) but I loved it. And the music really added to that.

And the film itself left me thinking about it for a few days afterwards as it leaves you with some good talking points.

Basically, if you're a fan of retro horror, then you should enjoy it :)
You had me at "80s horror feel" :) I will watch it soon

groupthink aggregate..? it's a compilation of reviews from separate news organizations.
Playing fast and loose with the term "news organizations". a large percentage are bloggers and people from rags that can barely be called magazines & newspapers.
Maybe 20% of the aggregated score are actual educated film reviewers.

i always follow the IMDB rating

I think sites like Rotten Tomatoes are fine just so long as you don't judge a film on a low score. The author, Joe Hill, recently wrote this article about the site when he was surprised to see crazy low numbers for films like American Ultra and Sinister 2... (I liked American Ultra but never saw Sinister 2... so I cannae comment on his thoughts on the latter film)

Personally if I see a film on there with a high percentage score I'll be excited to see it... but I won't let a low percentage score put me off seeing a film and making my own opinion. I think that's the best way :)

I agree with this. I really low score will turn me off of something I am on the fence about. A really high score, will turn me on to something I may not have cared about. Everyone's opinion is different, but I think if enough reviews, bloggers or not, are really positive, there's a decent chance it's a decent movie. And the same goes for the bad part.
It's not always dead on. I have seen quite a few movies that I disagree with on RT. But, I still think it's a nice gauge for movies you might be lukewarm about.

I look at percentage reviews sometimes (if I've never heard of the film but being a film geek 9 times out of 10 I have) to get a rough Idea and obviously if it's seriously low then I take that into account and also seriously high BUT I love loads of films with low scores and hate loads of films with high scores so it's a tough one sometimes.
I couldn't Belive how much I liked american ultra. The reviews and rotten tomatoes put me off but it was hilariously graphic and I love that. Like kingsman/ Shaun of the dead/ zombieland graphic

I watched a film the other day called creep (not the English/ german underground horror which I also love) but a found footage film with mark duplass which he created. It has a huge rating for a film I enjoyed but would never give it 94% critically! And was amazed critics loved it. I Only found it because I see a trailer for the overnight which also looks good and has had huge praise.

I have a mate and everytime I tell him about a film he goes straight to rotten tomatoes. Does me in sometimes

I use Metacritic even more than Rotten Tomatoes, except for genre films which Rotten Tomatoes is better for because you get a lot of reviews from blogs/sites that are, say, horror fans. So it's a bit more well-rounded.
