In the emails it says if your returned for a replacement or refund then you won't get "free" mint copy.

It was already returned for a 'new' defective copy - see above my reply from ES

Even better was the following when I questioned what to do with the other, original defective copy:

So anyone that sent theirs back for a replacement will get the replacement AND the new reprinted mint copy and don't need to send anything back. Holy cow I'm gonna have three

LOL but that is a cool idea for new finishings - glow in the dark paint.

Definitely outstanding for Paramount to support ES in their quality efforts. And it must be easy to throw another 500 in the pipeline to ES since this steelbook is the same worldwide so there should be plenty to float around for quality issues. Overall this bodes very well for ES's maiden steelbook

Yep! And anyone awaiting a replacement from the original, before this announcement, gets a replacement AND a new mint copy, and don't have to send any back.

Wow i've been in the real world working today and havent managed to check back today. So much can happen in the space of 6 hours!

I guess its WIN WIN for everyone, we all got duplicates and ES probably arent going to be charged for the defective first print by Paramount so no issue for them!

Everyones happy, apart from the eBay scalpers!

Now I have full faith in ES after what has happened. Looks like they persuaded manufacturer in a customer friendly way but 27.99 is still too much for me. I really hope they keep the price at 17.99 and increase the print run or I am happy to pay more if they become blufans exclusive for the UK.

That's a little sad news about the re-print but now can't wait for their next announcement!

Now the question is - which to offload?

If everything Luke says comes to pass, I'm going to end up with:

1. Open defective
2. Sealed defective
3. Sealed mint

I'm leaning towards opening and keeping the mint one and then trading both of the defective copies.
