Got mine this morning as well, and fortunately it's a mint copy.

It's good to hear that ES had the sense to keep some back for the benefit of those who were unfortunate enough to receive damaged copies. That's my second order and I've had no necessity to contact them about anything, but from reading on here, it sounds like their customer service is first class.

As for the steel, it's a beauty :drool:
 
My postman hasn't even been today, my postal service is a complete waste of time. Hopefully he'll bother to do his job on Monday.

Bit annoying when everyone else seems to have got theirs. :(

maybe your postman ill or forgot his parcels. its happened to me a few times and then you get a knock at the door late afternoon/early evening and another postman has your parcel.
 
I just checked mine closer in the light and mine has a scratch pretty much down the whole front of the steelbooks:( an email will be sent :angry:

Maybe, but the general service is just abysmal. I never receive post in the morning at all, he usually comes sometime between 1 and 3 in the afternoon and often on Saturdays they just won't bother at all. I rarely receive parcels on a Saturday either.
 
I received one with a spine slash and emailed ES to request a replacement and received this email about 2 minutes later:

Hi Richie,

Thanks for your email.

I'm sorry to hear that one of your Jack Reacher steelbooks has arrived with a spine slash on it. Luckily we have kept back some copies to cover eventualities like this, so I will request a replacement copy is dispatched to you on Monday.

Could I ask that you please return the damaged copy to us in the original packaging at:

W1A 7BW

We'll refund the cost of the return postage for you of course.

I also asked Luke if they were planning on releasing any more exclusives and if he could tell me about the print run on this steelbook and this was his reply:

"We do have further exclusives coming up, the first of which we hope to be able to announce next week. The print run on Reacher will be announced on Monday".

I have to admit their customer service is exemplary, I am very impressed with them so far.

Having just read through this I rechecked my copys of Jack I received today and they all have the scratch on the front :( faint as it is its there

Yeah it's very very faint but a straight line so disappointing waiting to here back from the email maybe I have been unlucky but it's been ten minutesEEK!:hilarious:
 
Rest assured Luke, the steelbook community will leave nothing but good feedback. Its important we all help give you a boost to increase the chances of future releases with low print runs.
 
I think mine might have this faint scratch to in the front but I'm unsure whether its on shrink wrap or the actual steel. It's only barely noticeable when I put it in light so I expect its on shrink wrap. I binned all packaging this morning so ill just keep this as I'd of struggle to ever see it if I didn't know.
 
Looks to me like it was originally a HMV exclusive. The data card says 'Double Play' which is what HMV had on its cardboard data sheet. This steel should had been £17.99 but bumped to £27.99 due to its limited release.

Received my copy today. There's a vertical scratch down the front in line with the rating sticker. There was also a patch of scratching on the inside artwork.
As others in this thread have mentioned, their customer service was very quick to respond.

Steelbooks need to have a quality control kick up the arse!
 
Both mine had the scratch on the front next to Cruise's face. So much for ordering another in case one turns up damaged. To be fair though I don't blame Ent. Store. They're service has been excellent so far and the scratch must have happened during manufacture.

Just hope I can get a mint replacement.
 
Seems to be a manufacturing fault surely if they are all the same :(

I still haven't had any email reply did you contact them via play?
 
I think mine has a similar issue as described in this thread. No point in returning for such a minor issue though, especially if it is affecting most copies and the chances are you could get a replacement in worse condition :ohno:
 
I thought that scratch was on the shrinkwrap, I think mine also has the scratch.

Are there any copies that don't have it? It's very faint, but still there. Could this be another one of those "manufacturing" issues like we saw with the UK predators?

As snoopi says what's to stop us getting a worse one

But even so this is acceptable in my opinion at any price in my opinion :emb:
