Ffs. Not feeling that

I’ll wait to see live pics first though and if the finish saves it I’ll wait for a drop

It probably won't be, but you could easily emboss the tag and deboss the title within. That, glossed, with some metallic reflections, would look great.

If Universal already uses dog tags, why not use the original poster?

The dog tag could be embossed and further refined with spot gloss.

Hey guys.
Did anyone order this?
It's supposed to have been out a week and I've not seen it posted anywhere yet.
Is it any good?

As so often, Universal got everything wrong here:
-Instead of a poster design, they used unimaginative new artwork.
-no embossing or debossing.
-Instead of spot gloss, they used full gloss, which makes the dog tag stand out less.
-The scratches on the front and rear for a used look are also not convincing.
-The metallic effects in the background make little sense, as this depicts a uniform.

If they had embossed the dogtag with the chain, while also debossing the title and tag hole within, and made the whole dogtag and chain a metallic spot matte (with everything else gloss) finish this actually would have been a really good steel. Full gloss is better than zero, but it's still a missed opportunity.

It all depends on the zero finish; there are also beautiful Steelbooks with this finish, for example Battleship, Hangover 2, Darlin’ or Over the Top. In addition, the finish should always match the artwork conceptually. Full gloss simply doesn't work for a war movie. Spot gloss on the chains and dogtags would have been perfect here.
