For some reason I actually prefer the look of this steelbook without any embossing, it's clean and to the point and fits the film pretty well. Although I don't understand how 'jaws' becomes a 5 letter word in any other language.

If the translating was done exactly it would be "machoires".
but "teeth from sea" is not so bad.

'Jaws' is a 4 letter word... don´t you mean 5 words?

It´s very common for movies to have non direct translations in other countries.
For instance, in Portugal, the official title for "Jaws" is "Tubarão", in Spain is "Tiburon", both meaning "Shark".

And the correct translation for "Le Dents De La Mer" is "The Teeth Of The Sea" and not "Teeth From Sea".

Funny thing is that if you go into google translator for french/english translation and put "Le Dents De La Mer", the english translation is "Jaws"... Are online translators influenced by movie titles???

¿Does anyone know if there has been any discussion anywhere here about the French-version steel of Jaws that has a misprint on the spine?:

The front cover shows the "regular" French title of "Les Dents de la Mer."

However, the spine shows the misprinted title of "Jaws."

Because I like misprints and errors, I just ordered 2 copies of this from the French Web site mov-style dot fr.

However, the Web site now says that this item is out of stock.

I have a copy of this thank to jayce20! Always fun to see errors

I do not apprehend this whole "error deal". I realize that Independence Day with the missing I warrants quite a bit of cash, but I believe there is a story behind it. Is there actually a Steelbook NOT IRONPACK (i.e. Independence Day) that demands large pay? I don't see it happening for the "wurple" releases of Batman Begins or The Dark Knight, same goes for this Jaws Steelbook. Someone enlighten me?

So is this the only version of Jaws that is embossed? I've been so focused on Asian steels recently that I've completely missed this.

They had to put 'Dents' on a steelbook didn't they? :hilarious:

Received today and thought I'd give this a deserved bump for any new members:

This blows every other version out of the water (no pun intended).

Every Jaws fan should own this. :scat:
