Yes (imo) but not much love from critics and audience judging by RT and Metacritic.
It's been a while so don't remember which cut we're getting here (or both?) http://movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=2050657
As for the steelbook: lazy back art compared to the futurepak and for those displaying their steelbooks on individual stands you really only have the one option here,
Inside iconic Megan image hidden under the disc is also a no-no.
Some of those futurepaks would make for fine steelbooks even with the same artwork . . . CHILD'S PLAY and JENNIFER'S BODY being two of the best choices . . . should look as fine as steelbooks as they do as futurepaks.
Furthermore the sad thing is that the superior canvas for artwork that is the futurepak - compared to the steelbook - was never used to best advantage (at least here in the U.K.) and I can only imagine how great panoramic wraparound artwork would look on the covers of an open futurepak where the spine doesn't get in the way Thinking now of those new Nathanael Marsh artworks for Shout - THE FOG and the other two - plus the one he did for THE THING and also thinking of the orange Tyler Stout artwork for THE FANTASTIC MR. FOX.
Personally, see nothing wrong with re-releasing these titles . . . after all not everyone has the same affection for futurepaks as they do for steelbooks and who wouldn't consider futurepaks will now be more than happy to buy the same artwork on steelbooks.
Similar pricing . . . with futurepaks starting life at around 18 quid and these steelbooks probably priced around 16 . . . with all FP examples - except for one - available cheaper further down the line - more recently, quite a few have appeared at Zoom, Zavvi and elsewhere . . . cheap as chips . . . (with a few former HMV exclusives in "2 for 10 quid" promos - even cheaper after discount).
FPs seem to have gone completely out of fashion and the last one out of the 26 released here in the U.K. was a good while ago.
Don't know if Scanavo has killed them off or what but I like them and have always liked them . . . since the first in the U.K. RotPotA over three years ago..
Anyway, quite like some of these FPs and would buy again in SBs if different artwork on the back (or inside, at least). Some like a breath of fresh air with their bright and cheerful colours and fresh designs :-
Those 2 and would like American pie, 8 mile, fear and loathing, rise apes, little miss sunshine, 500 days of summer & fight club (but manta are takling that anyway) but I wouldn't want any of those art works
