Gift packaging only seems to get you a box if ordering from the US. Whenever I use gift packaging from Amazon UK, they generally ship items in a flimsy cardboard envelope. That's why I no longer order from Amazon in Europe.

I've mostly managed to push out this, but considering just how little padding the package had, I'm shocked this is the only damage. ******* amazon though.

At least look at it that way. Over time you'll be able to soften that out completely I think.
If that was a single steelbook with no slip. It'd be wrecked!
Did the steel come through unscathed inside?
Always worth a pop. Complain to customer service. You never know. Discount voucher or a partial refund. Just don't send it back.

I haven't opened it. It's technically a Christmas present from my wife, but I had to check for damage obviously. I don't see the steelbook getting damage without damage to the slip. Yeah I'd call it a win.
so as expected just a paper thin bag, Amazon are really terrible and don't deserve anything exclusive.
Yeah I know. I'd happily pay more for an option to guarantee a box. I only order steels from Amazon if I literally have no other choice.
I once went on Amazon chat and said is there any way you can get them to put the steelbook I've ordered in a box to prevent damage. They said they can do that and a note had been left on the order. It came as normal in a thin card envelope with more dents than John Wick's car door.
I tried the same thing when my Thor Mondo kept getting damaged from amazon Germany.
I never liked that steelbook, he looks like he has sunburn. I'm not a big fan of the Mondo steelbooks, but the Captain America First Avenger was a nice one.
ordered this and it came in a jiffy bag, needless to say it got damaged, placed a 2nd order and asked customer services to send in a cardboard box which they did and it arrived in mint condition......
I was going to return the original damaged one for a refunded but instead got it replaced FOC and the replacement arrived in a cardboard box, also in mint condition
Now i have a space copy of this that im willing to sell for cost price (ill cop shipping on it), anyone interested drop me a message.

So I just opened mine cos I wanted to inspect the slip for more damage and the corners were slightly dinged up. Even then I would have been ok with that. But I checked the steelbook and it has a ******* massive scratch on it. It can't possibly have happened in shipping, so it must be factory defect or happened during assembly.
Worse still, amazon basically said get ******. Send it back for a refund but said they can't offer a replacement... ffs.

Get a refund and buy one already in the country from eBay.

Given it's sought after you're better off selling it, even with the damage you should at least get your money back and you'll help out someone else trying to source one.
Better that than it vanishing up Amazon's rear end.
Yeah I might do that. thanks. Honestly one of the worst scratches I have ever seen on a new steelbook that was in a fullslip.
It's still available directly from Amazon. I'm guessing if someone is selling on Amazon, they must not be happy with the condition.
