That's fine, you have reasons, I've had to join a GB before because i was away but there's a big thing being made out that you have to join anivs GB to get a copy when it's not the case. If your around on the day and quick you should be able to get a copy. I'm free that day at 2pm so I'll risk ordering direct.

Plus I wasn't asking why is everyone joining the GB lol.... But when a gb host mocks you for not being able to afford the extra $ and making it out no one should order direct and then makes a mockery of getting you to pay more on eBay if you miss out I just think wow!

I get what you mean, my financial situation has took a turn since last year so have be more selective on the releases I want and the means in which I purchase them. Im all for group buys, but seems most releases now offer a pretty decent window of opportunity at live time on the retailers site to get them so been choosing that lately to secure individual editions. Ive went the GB route for John Wick as its a bad ass popular movie and feel like its going to sell out quickly and I need that steel in my life. lol

If this was two years ago I'd be in a GB for every release I wanted because everything was in high demand, especially when it came to Novamedia. Unfortunately there's been a downturn in sales for whatever reason.. oversaturation in the market, currency rates, lack of interest which is good for you and me, who can now order releases with a lot less stress and save a few quid but bad for retailers..and also me as I was a fan of the Novamedia choice and Manta lab global steelbook lines which have now ended

Yes you are right, that was the old system where you just reply to the post in the GB forum section and then you are billed later. Things have gone to the new system now which requires immediate payment. All Group Buys not only the ones I host.

No people dont act sh*tty to people who cannot afford the extra $5 or $13 bucks, nobody should make fun of anyones financial situation. Just to some people who bring up the same point over and over again. Not particularly calling you out but I usually dont respond to the nay sayers anymore; Oh this release is so subpar, its so much more expensive from the retailer, HDN is taking all these fees, GB host is getting loaded with cash from our purchases etc etc. Maybe the $5/7/13 is for ppl who can afford it and like the convenience or want to support HDN in a way?

Also I am not saying you will have an issue or not. We simply dont know. Its like saying why should I buy health insurance if I am a healthy person?

That's fair enough, I dont moan about If hdn are taking all the fees etc. I sometimes question retailer prices but I'm a paying customer so im allowed and again if I find something subpar then why should I bite my lip, it's a forum, I'm allowed to have my opinion on how a release looks. I've once questioned why blufans charge us as a site more compared to other sites GBs and got an answer back.... If I moan about a blufans price it's nothing to do with this site, it's aimed at them.

But with any retailer I'm allowed to question their pricing if I'm not happy - that don't mean I'm moaning about a GB though

I get seriously p*ssed off at people who say it's only $10/ $20/ $50 more (and that don't always refer to a GB) and if I say my bit I'm not complaining about a GBs fees, I'm sticking up for the people who may not have expendable cash. And that's all.
But all of a sudden I got stick for it so I couldn't work out what was happening and why you posted those pics. I was confused and then I clicked.

A lot of collectors are picking and choosing too with all these retailers, constant releases, price hikes, etc etc etc so to me $13 is better off saved because I have other things on my radar. If i miss this I won't loose sleep, it wasn't my favourite like some although I thoroughly enjoyed it. Plus I don't own the original nova so again I won't cry or pay scalping prices on eBay for it if I miss it.

Anyone who's followed recent nova releases know they sell out and come back too so I'm trying to be positive about the whole missing out scenario and telling myself it will come back (whether that's for 5 mins or 5 days.... Who knows)

I get why they join GBs and like you say it's convenience, might be away, worried they will miss out etc. I get that, it's when people mock the others is when I get annoyed and I thought that's what was happening earlier.

Yeah I agree you never know how it's going to go on pre order but so far for nova, kimchi, manta etc etc etc I've had no issues with the releases I want. But if I was going away and this was my favourite film and didn't mind spending the extra then yeah I would consider the GB and I find nothing wrong with that but I just wouldn't start mocking others who didn't want to take that route.

They can do it today but considering the cost of 4K Media in Southeast Asia the price will go up considerably. Just buy the 4K versions from US and put in the disc yourself. Might be the same cost lol.

Maybe in the future when costs come down for UHD in the region.

Yeah its a lose lose situation, there could be a system implemented where the GB host can offer delayed payments from trusted members,
So if someone ends up not paying they are added to a blacklist and wont be allowed to join a GB.
