I can't help but feel like this lenticular won't live up to the hype. The background on #2 is basically plain and that's gunna affect the depth quite heavily if we can't see the motion in the background compared to the harsh colour transition in the first. The first also has all the individual layers of depth(with the circles) compared to this one which again is lacking.

I also went into great detail about other features that make the first great, in my length analysis here; and again, these features will be lacking in this #2 release.
So I just received my copy of the lenticular and I am astonished. It's not just the depth (which let me tell you, holds up to the hype) but what I'm most impressed with is most evident in this gif.

The movement within the lenticular is so full its great but each element doesn't just shift from left to right like a traditional lenticular. The layers interact with one another and it makes what you're holding, feel real. For instance, look at John's chin, the movement can be seen behind the translucent title. The circles of bokeh can also be seen behind one another. This isn't just a title moving, it feels like you're conducting the whole poster. I am super super impressed. Seeing everything, not just move, but adapt is really special. I've never seen anything else like it on another lenticular:thumbs:

It's not that I think #2 will be a bad release, I just think it won't come anywhere near the first

I know it wont happen, but it would be nice if Nova uncovered more copies of the 1st John Wick and put them up for sale at the same time as this release.

John Wick was a film I saw very late, long after Nova had released it, and now I want it

Im on the same boat. I saw the movie early though, but I didn´t follow premium releases back then :banghead:. Now I want it as well, and probably Lenti also . The match with JW 2 Lenti would be beautiful, what a marriage :cigar: . Problem is I like them all

Nothing exciting about featuring Atmos at this stage (for me). It must be there by default if the Studio have it in their vault.

Disney are the main Studio that haven't released anything in Atmos.
Nova's release of the first film notably lacked the Atmos track that most other territories received, so I think they wanted to address customers' concerns about the upcoming disc potentially following suit.

Tangentially related: I asked John over at Manta Lab about the possibility of their Edge of Tomorrow release getting an Atmos track on their discs (it's currently only available with Atmos via the VUDU streaming service). This was his response:

"When it comes to producing the discs, we have no access to the spec of the discs because we are simply given the discs that Studios produced and with major studio products, we can't touch anything and just use what's made from them. We can wait for the Studio to finish different spec but it's a long game and we are not sure about it but we can ask the Studio if there's a plan for it."

Yes I do understand where they are coming but I find the announcement about including of an Atmos track a bit silly.
