There is a sense of irony here. As on the box, I quote "BOX FOR TRANSIT ONLY. PLEASE REMOVE BEFORE SOLD IN-STORE."

My advice to vendors is please don't, this is great packaging and carry on sending them out as is
Yup! My Mad Max 5 film collection arrived from Amazon (double boxed) In one of these WB shippers snug as a bug and mint!

Love to see this become the standard going forward

Very disappointed on the steelbook,at least the slip loos awesome….too bad I couldn’t cancel before shipping….maybe in hand would look better lol…I’ll see in a few days when I get it.

Mine came today and I’m completely underwhelmed. Will Zavvi accept a return with the cellophane removed?
Yes. If it’s damaged (any element of it) it’s free. And I think there’s a charge of you just want to return it

This doesn't bode well for Warners new collectors edition of the OG Beetlejuice.

As well, I'm kind of glad that Warner dumped the collectors editions of Inception and Interstellar for the moment.

Tbf the Beetlejuice edition is completely different to this styled edition

What are you guys even talking about? They haven't reused the art for the slip and front on those other editions, they actually have art on the back too. There's no comparison to be made.

I meant the steel finish. Beetlejuice is a Warner Collectors edition as well. Fair game to speculate based on that especially as the art design replicates one of the original marketing posters and is a pretty desirable choice.
It'd be a shame if it wasn't treated to a nice finish.

I wasn't actually comparing anything anyway based on spec design.
Just batting with my usual negativity

Warner's like to throw wild quite a lot of the time. Not as poor as Paramount but not as great as Universal is releasing right now.
You never know, the paint jobs are up and down. It'd be nice to go into the next WB collectors release with a solid showing here and a higher consistency rate amongst releases.

Universal have shown it can be done and done very well. At similar price points.
Warner could add clearer design specs for the slips & steels on the pack shots and marketing.

This one isn't the greatest. Prices are high now. It's fair to want a well rounded release for the scratch we all slap on the table come pre orders.

:D

Matte finish don't bother me too much with this kind of artwork, and I do really love that artwork (just as well given how much it's repeated in the set :woot:) so I'm happy enough with it. Art cards are great and the replica 'I have a condition' card is the kind of quirky tat I love to collect lol

The matte finish isn't really a surprise tbh. All the recent wb uce's have had matte finish steels, with the exception of the exorcist. It's the lack of rear art, repeated art, and not even a new interior steelbook shot that gets me. I do really like the single piece of art used, but a glossy steel would've helped it.

Can you all just expect matte steelbooks from now on because it is always 90% matte. I don’t know why to this day you all expect glossy and then are thoroughly disappointed when it’s not, it’s the same every year.
