I'm not sure why some are confused wether it will contain the 3D or not?

It won't. It's not mentioned in the description with any retailer and it's a one disc only release.

I guess people are looking at the price and thinking that 3D should be included...maybe. Then again some people think £25.99 is good value for the 4K version so I really don't know.

Am I right in thinking that no retailer offered a 3D version of this steel? That's really disappointing if so as it would make me miss out on a great looking steel purely because it will work out too expensive (I'm not paying £40ish total for both 3D and the steel separately- the film just isn't AAA enough to warrant it).

Every UK retailer showing the same artwork as in the OP . . . different and inferior front artwork showing in Italy and elsewhere (front too dark, too much jungle . . . OK it's WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE, but still . . . characters cut off below the knees etc.).
So, either 2 steelbooks or none of the UK retailers have been updated . . .

Apparently there'll be a Spanish version with the 3D included.

Thanks to pics of the steelbook from Spain we can get a good idea of the finish a couple of weeks before the UK release.

Looking at pics of the 2 different steelbooks I'm actually leaning more towards the other one with its cool metallic reflections in the leopard's eyes and in the orange central section.

Apart from softening the image it's debatable whether the glossy finish improves the steelbook to any measurable degree.
