Well since you asked
Apart from Wonder Woman they are pretty mediocre.
I understand you love DC and I even understand you love those movies but the love of a certain movie doesn't mean it's a great movie.
I love lots of movies that aren't that great but I will be the first to admit that they are crap and not be blinded by my love for those movies.

Because of the natural comparison to the MC universe. In their own way they are both taking lead with comic movies but both worlds are compared within cinema and because of how established and polished as a film series the MCU is, the DCEU will always be seen as second best, thus hating upon it in comparison. In their own rights each DC film isn't bad at all, but as we all know these films have to culminate somewhere and lead towards something bigger, it's when they become intertwined where comparisons are drawn to the Marvel's superhero team offering.

Lets make no mistake, the MCU is far more successful at this stage but it too has its flaws. However, it feels more professional and solid overall. You have 10 years of MCU to catch up on so with that level of establishment and now it's run into the finale of Phase 3, it will be drawn upon compared to DC's far fewer offerings and straight into a Justice League movie because, hey, lets bring the team together and draw in some cash.

I think we can all agree that DC are trying to 'keep up' or 'rush' to establish itself in the same merit as MCU. I don't think their films are bad, I just think they've got it wrong in terms of build and establishing what they need to. What is the hurry? Why not make a couple of MoS movies first before meeting The Bat? That in itself was a bit of an anti-climax for me personally. Every body has always wanted to see Supes meet Bats on the big screen and when it finally happened, yes it was good, but not as good as it should have been in my opinion. DC are quickly pushing their movies towards the team collaboration, and only then are they going to produce us with the individual films afterwards rather than before. Do we care that much about seeing Aquaman have a solo movie AFTER Justice League? Some will argue yes as it draws on his backstory, and that's the point I guess, that's only the route DC can go now, but I would have much rather seen each of these individual heroes built up first. That's just my preference and I think it adds more excitement to a team movie.

I don't think people necessarily 'hate' the DCEU, I just think they prefer the MCU more.

Of course, we are born in an era where we are lucky enough to be able enjoy both and that's what I do. I'll always have my preferences but by no means is the DCEU rubbish.

I love them, because they are great movies. OK, I can understand why people don't like Batman v Superman ..I also wasn't a fan of that movie after the first viewing, but the more I watch this movie the more I like it. I agree, they didn't take full advantage of the potential, but in the end, it applies to most movies.
I'm a fan of the Marvel movies as well, but I hate Iron Man 3 and will say that also, when DC do a movie I dont like.

The biggest issue with Justice League was Warner, who wanted a more Marvel-ish movie, but they failed. Damn, that's why I like the DC movies, because they are different ...darker and more aggressive. I know DC want a part of the cake, but they did it the wrong way. Instead of take a different route (Man of Steel), which was the right decision, they tried to copy Marvel.
Justice League was doomed since day one, but even with a full package of issus it's still a great movie, which I enjoy each time.

Were surrounded by people that have different tastes but for me BvS is the movie I was craving for!! I'm like other people that started off loving batman 89,the batmobile of course but the music and score was superb and that what I got with BvS! Music in a film is so important for me!! Batman warehouse scene is my favourite scene ever!!

I also think, Justice League would have been a bit better with Junkie XL score. Like, what did Joss Whedon expect from Danny Elfman when he calls him at the last minute and make him work mostly with story boards (as they were doing reshoot and they were in a hurry).

Absolutely agree that this should have had Junkie XL score for tonal consistency. Joss obviously phoned this one idea in on Friday afternoon at 4:50pm before going down the pub. Give me any day Danny Elfman on Batman ('89) but bringing in him for nostalgia and reusing themes from different universe movies was just crap.

I agree that DC should have established the individual characters first before rushing right into Justice League. While I enjoy the individual movies it would have been much better to properly establish the DCU. Marvel has had a great run but I think the formula is wearing thin and characters are getting older now. I can't picture more Iron Man, Thor and Captain America movies, so that means moving on to other characters and away from their biggest stars (after Infinity War 2).

Totally agree!! Wonder woman theme in BvS worked so well!! Dark and gritty is my favourite kind of movie theme and music can make or brake it!! Its the same some what with the avengers films, the theme on the trailers just gives it that more of a kick and makes it better!!!

Your quote is spot on for me imo. I liked the story arch of thor in avengers but for me iron man or cap had to go!!!

It’s nice to find another DC fan. When I tell people around here that I like MOS and BVS I get a lot of flack. I thought Justice League was fun too, but it seems like i’m solidly in the minority there.
Just because DC fans don't always join the conversation, doesnt mean they don't exist. It usually turns into a Marvel v DC topic and goes nowhere, so people avoid it. But we are here...we are always watching. :watch::rofl:
If you ever doubt there are other DC fans, you can always come back and check the spoiler below.

Do I think MoS is the greatest movie ever made? Of course not.
Do I think MoS is the greatest superhero film made? Hell yes!

"overall" is the big word, because overall the DC films are not THAT bad. I mean, if we were to judge the MCU at the same state, we would have to only take The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America into account, if we sum it up, only 2 of these movies were actually good.
And we jump to phase 2 (Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2, Guardians of the galaxy, Avengers 2, Ant Man), only 2 are good (maybe 3) while the rest is average (some of them being really bad) and that's the same trend since.

I think the big difference is since Marvel were first and is here for 10 years now, people tend to forget the bad movies more easily, because if you look closely, for 1 good Marvel movie there is always 1 bad or average at best movie to "counter" it.

I agree!!!
Maybe JL isn't good, but I look forward to Aquaman.
Please give DCEU a chance so as you do for MCU

*raising my hand as a DC fan*

I love both MCU and DCEU, and all these discussions that turn into MCU v DCEU by fanboys is just cancer. Enjoy both, there’s plenty of room for both of these universes to exist! While they have made some easy mistakes with DCEU where they could’ve reached a much higher potential, I still really enjoy the movies. MOS, BVS, WW and JL I like either really well or think is quite good. SS was not my thing the way it turned out. It’s also spot on that not all of the MCU movies are great either but still I really enjoy them. It’s amazing to have both universes to enjoy on the big screen. :)

Another DC fan here, for me all except Suicide Squad have been better than the lesser Marvel movies. I just wish WB would have more faith in their directors, you OK'd the script just release the movie how everyone agreed it would be. For the most part they're not even making changes in response to test audiences (this is also a big problem at Disney/Marvel).

I must be the only one who thought WW was overrated.

It was OK, just not as special as I was led to believe it would be. I thought it dragged on a bit longer than was necessary too.

The Dark Knight is my favourite DC film (I know it's not part of the new wave)

My main issue with this movie is that it isn't long enough, especially the forming of JL and the resurrection of Supe. Always been hopeful that a Snyder cut would become available, but it doesn't look likely at all

sadly I think it's impossible. The Snyder Cut implied a Justice League part 2, and Warner butchered the movie into a 2 hours one just to erase everything that would implied a part 2, because they didn't want a part 2.

This is turning into a DC Fan Support Group. Nothing wrong with that. I'm a DC fan too. I like Marvel too but for comics and characters DC wins for me.

I agree with everything written here. I love the DC films because, at first they tried to make movies for the people that read the comics whereas Marvel took the movies as something separate and then made the comics try to fit within the MCU.

Warner are what is wrong with the DCU. Fair enough they tried to make their own universe but when people started saying that the movies weren't as fun as Marvel ones they **** themselves and decided to rip the off and catch up on 10 years worth of work in 3. As a result Warner have burnt a lot bridges with directors who wouldn't touch a DCU film now. Happened with David Ayer over Suicide Squad and, to an extent, with Snyder. Warner approved the scripts with the long runtimes and then cut them down mid shoot, leading to reshoots and rushed films. Also, why would you try to have your flagship movie come in at under 2 hours when your trying to introduce 3 mew characters and culminate the previous 3 films? Absolute madness!

As for the films; I love MOS. I agree the regular BVS was disappointing but the Ultimate Edition is far superior and shows what could have happened if Warner just let Snyder do his thing. They should have just called it Dawn of Justice when they decided to put WW in the mix.

My only peeve with the WW film was that I wish they swapped out David Thewlis with another actor when he changed into Ares. Also, I wish he got larger and had a full on God of War fight with WW considering he is an actual God. I long for the day the Snyder cut of JL comes out. I'd happily sit through 3 hours of that but as @Apo says, it will probably never happen. I'm with Blusteel about The Dark Knight being the best DC film. It stayed true to the characters and had real stakes for the hero.

It's not hard for Warner to make a good DC film though. You could take almost any storyline and put it into action. For Green Lantern, do First Flight and then Sinestro War and then tie the whole JL thing together in an adaption of Blackest Night.

Apologies for the rant!

I've heard of some people making strange statements to get attention, but I'm amazed no one has pulled you up on this. Joking, it must be at least 12 - 15th on my list though. That being said, I've never really liked Superman movies, I enjoy the comics, but find they don't translate too well to the big screen. Batman however is my favourite and even if a Superman was technically better, and superior on a story, acting, pacing level, then I'd still prefer the Batman movie
As @BluSteel2012 mentioned, I too think WW is way overrated. MoS and BvS are definitely better IMO. But yeah, The Dark Knight is still the best superhero movie out of all of them, closely followed by Ragnarok
