Feel free to discuss shipping, customer service, availability, etc about this retailer here.

List of Kimchidvd.com Exclusives HERE

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q) What is the link to Kimchidvd?
A)Welcome to KIMCHI DVD
Q) I haven't mastered Korean yet - how can I read the site?!
A) Install Google translate on your browser:

Google Chrome HERE
Firefox HERE

Q) How do I register?
A) Turn on Google translate >> Login >> click on "If members to join ..." >> fill in EVERY box >>
click on this box to ensure your member ID is available:
rsz_button.jpg

You don't need to use Google Translate to register, provided you use the English registration link.
You need to enter both a Celluar phone (mobile) and Telephone number when registering/placing an order, however they can both be the same number (I don't have a home phone number, so always use my mobile number).
Numbers should be entered without a proceeding 0 and you do not need to enter your country code (KimchiDVD add it automatically to your parcel label).

So a UK phone (01452 123123) is specified like this:
Local Area Code : 1452 Phone Number : 123123

A UK mobile (07847 123123) is specified like this:
Local Area Code : 7847 Phone Number : 123123

If you have already registered, afterlogging in you can update your address/phone numbers here.

Q) Do they ship outside of Korea?
A) Yes, worldwide delivery, various shipping options available, for example to UK: (1 x steelbook)

K-Packet is tracked and one Steelbook to UK (with a weight of 450g - which is the typical weight for a lenticular) costs $10.81.
On average it takes around 7 days after dispatch to arrive in the UK - I always use K-Packet when placing orders and my orders have always arrived safely.

I'm not sure if it's insured or not (there's no mention) but assuming you pay via PayPal, their guarantee will cover you if you don't receive your order for some reason.

You can track your K-Packet order using this website, however tracking information isn't always accurate after leaving Korea (e.g. sometimes it doesn't update again before it's delivered, or even after if your postman doesn't bother getting a signature).

EMS $21.80 (Tracked, replacement will be issued where possible if lost)
TNT Premium $37.80 (Tracked, replacement will be issued where possible if lost)

Q) What form of packing do they use?
A) Cardboard Box, with enough bubblewrap to keep things safe, see below: (Thanks to SBC28 for pics)

A pretty sturdy box, which seemingly took some damage during shipping.
(These are pretty much always the same boxes.)
kimchipackaging01.jpg

Enough space for the item to "breathe", but snug enough to stop it from moving.
(That white thing is the invoice, which i choose to include, since i am in the USA.)
kimchipackaging02.jpg

6 layers of bubble wrap.

Another shot of the bubble wrap, one sheet (4 layers) removed.
kimchipackaging04.jpg

One minty mint SB, all the way from Korea.

Q) Is the retailer custom's friendly? (i.e will they mark as gift, or low value).
A) Very friendly, you have various options to choose from:
rsz_customs-kimchi.jpg

Q) Will the retailer charges upon order or upon shipment
A) You will be charged upon order

Q) What payment do they accept?
A) Card or Paypal

Q) Customer Services any good?
A) Yes - overall a very good, reliable site to order from.

Cancellations: Send an email to [email protected], including the number of the order you wish to cancel. He'll get back to you as soon as he can.

Replacements: are issued if in stock, if not a refund will be offered.
Refunds: They are normally processed within a few days.

Perhaps if a Membership system was I place for that 24/48 hour period it should guarentee members 1 copy of each 1/4 full or Lenti then they can hedge their bettings and go for more during the general release

It's a flawed system as it would create 2 tiers of customers. No other retailer does this as there are no benefits to them or consumers. My prime membership doesn't guarantee me anything for sale. Additional benefits are worth the price of admission.

Hi. I am No Dings, and Im a Kimchi addict...

It all started with Leon, I felt like just like a little boy again! It only escalated from there.

Here are my Aprox. expenditures so far:

*Leon Exc. Full Slip - $68 (direct)
*Leon Exc. Full Slip - $70 (3rd party)

*Thor 2 Lenti $125 (3rd party)
*Thor 2 Lenti $185 (3rd Party)

*The Pianist (direct) : $146
x2 Lenti
x1 Full

*RUSH (direct) : $269
x1 1/4 Slip
x2 Full Slip
x3 Lenti Slip

*Snowpiercer (direct) : $169
x1 Box Set
x1 Full Slip

*Snowpiercer (direct) [My Girlfriend's Separate Order] : $68
x1 Full Slip

*Internal Affairs (direct) : $223
x1 Full Slip
x2 Lenti

That's a Whopping $1,323 on 6 different Titles. That's roughly $220 apiece.

Is anyone else spending that much on Kimchi releases???

Am I losing my mind? Can you say Hobby, or obsession?

The doubles and triples of specific individual editions are a bit over the top in my opinion. Why did you order 3 x Rush lenticulars and 2 x full slips, for instance? The 'keep one open' doesn't apply, you've ordered 6 of them!

As regards Snowpiercer and Internal Affairs, they certainly weren't double dip worthy in my book. But if you have the space and don't mind spending that much, then who cares! :)

Couldn't agree more. I personally think your mad buying that many editions of the one film. Who am I to judge though, it's your scratch.

Trade Currency.

Im looking for a Frozen Lenti , Tangled Lenti , MU Lenti & many more. I sure dont feel like paying what some of those are going for on EvilBay :ohno:

$269 on Rush does seem slightly excessive. Bet Tony loves you, you'll be on his Christmas card list this year. :)

I agree. & I certainly hope so :hilarious:

The whim of a Mad Man...I like that :hilarious:

I don't look at it as losing $200, I look at it as saving $400

Trades my bro. I can't wait to trade one of those bad boyz for a frozen! :movie:

I may be wrong and only time will tell but I don't think you'll be able to trade any one of your multiples (except maybe for Thor 2) 1:1 for Frozen or one of the other Disneys on your wishlist.

Good luck with your trades man. If I had the funds I'd do the same thing, starting a steelbook collection pretty late really hurts when a lot of the ones you want are x2-x3 the original price.

I have a rush lenti preordered and I'm unsure if I should trade it away or keep for that one that I'll miss due to server issues or something (looking at you drive..) or keep it all together :hilarious:

I only buy one of each, simply because that is what I can afford. If you can afford to buy multiples and keep them for trades etc. then more power to you! Perfume may be the first I double dip, followed by Iron Man, Drive, Wolf of Wall Street... arrghhh this will get crazy! :D

Care to elaborate what exactly is poor quality: the slip, the steel, the movie?
Don't think the Steelbook is as good quality wise as some of the other Kimchi releases you are mainly paying for the Lenticular slip the steel is not top quality it's the same as the Zavvi steel The Lenticular is ok but not a patch on Tangled I'm not saying it's bad but I think Leon,Amelie,Pianist are better quality steelbooks from Kimchi.
This is priced really high on ebay & from HDN sellers & I just don't think it's worth the amounts it seems to sell for I know Disney titles are collectible & I love kimchi releases it's just my opinion people seem to like it.

I'm in agreement with you. The Frozen lenti is muddled and not one of their better efforts, and I'm also not a fan of the steel either. IMO, Frozen along with the Monsters Inc. lenti are their worst.

Still kinda new at buying from Kimchi... well at least pre-ordering anyways. Pre-ordered the Infernal Affairs trilogy and it's still saying "receipt of order" instead of "payment completed" like my previous order. Should I worry or do they usually take this long to process pre-orders?

This indicates that your payment failed. Exactly the same thing happened to me last month when I tried to order "The Pianist". The way round it is to re-order the item you want. I understand both full and lenticular slips are still available, although they have gone up in price.

Once you have successfully re-ordered, go into your account and open up the order page for the order where the payment had failed. Click on cancel. The failed payment order will be cancelled, leaving you with the new order where payment has been successful. This is a lot easier than e-mailing Tony and asking him to do it for you.

I was advised by members here that paying by Paypal has a higher success rate on Kimchi's website than paying by credit card. Having used both options, I would concur with that advice.

Package lost-no Refund !?

Ordered a Amelie Steel on May 14th,happy as always getting a high Quality Steel from Kimchi.:D
Happy? Not this Time,Guys:(
I`m still waiting .

Kimchi was contacted,Opened a case on Paypal . The only thing Kimchi provides is the Tracking Id to solve this Problem.
Very funny, indeed.I own it since the Day it was shipped and it says: Arrival at inward office of exchange on May 21. Since then no update.
I also own a Letter from Geman Post International Inquiries Center in Frankfurt that clearly Proofs that even the German Post is not able to track or even find this Package. This Information was also provided to Kimchi from German Post.
So it must be considered as lost in Transit.
Only reaction from Kimchi, providing the Track Id again, still no Refund.

Well everything is fine with Kimchi as long as your Package is not lost.
So,i won`t be ordering anymore from them in the Future, all my Orders cancelled.

P.S.Provided a scan of the Letter to PayPal a few Minutes ago-let`s see how this works out:ohno:
