Frequently Asked Questions:

Q) What is the link to Kimchidvd?
A)Welcome to KIMCHI DVD
Q) I haven't mastered Korean yet - how can I read the site?!
A) Install Google translate on your browser:

Google Chrome HERE
Firefox HERE

Q) How do I register?
A) Turn on Google translate >> Login >> click on "If members to join ..." >> fill in EVERY box >>
click on this box to ensure your member ID is available:
rsz_button.jpg

You don't need to use Google Translate to register, provided you use the English registration link.
You need to enter both a Celluar phone (mobile) and Telephone number when registering/placing an order, however they can both be the same number (I don't have a home phone number, so always use my mobile number).
Numbers should be entered without a proceeding 0 and you do not need to enter your country code (KimchiDVD add it automatically to your parcel label).

So a UK phone (01452 123123) is specified like this:
Local Area Code : 1452 Phone Number : 123123

A UK mobile (07847 123123) is specified like this:
Local Area Code : 7847 Phone Number : 123123

If you have already registered, afterlogging in you can update your address/phone numbers here.

Q) Do they ship outside of Korea?
A) Yes, worldwide delivery, various shipping options available, for example to UK: (1 x steelbook)

K-Packet is tracked and one Steelbook to UK (with a weight of 450g - which is the typical weight for a lenticular) costs $10.81.
On average it takes around 7 days after dispatch to arrive in the UK - I always use K-Packet when placing orders and my orders have always arrived safely.

I'm not sure if it's insured or not (there's no mention) but assuming you pay via PayPal, their guarantee will cover you if you don't receive your order for some reason.

You can track your K-Packet order using this website, however tracking information isn't always accurate after leaving Korea (e.g. sometimes it doesn't update again before it's delivered, or even after if your postman doesn't bother getting a signature).

EMS $21.80 (Tracked, replacement will be issued where possible if lost)
TNT Premium $37.80 (Tracked, replacement will be issued where possible if lost)

Q) What form of packing do they use?
A) Cardboard Box, with enough bubblewrap to keep things safe, see below: (Thanks to SBC28 for pics)

A pretty sturdy box, which seemingly took some damage during shipping.
(These are pretty much always the same boxes.)

Enough space for the item to "breathe", but snug enough to stop it from moving.
(That white thing is the invoice, which i choose to include, since i am in the USA.)
kimchipackaging02.jpg

6 layers of bubble wrap.

Another shot of the bubble wrap, one sheet (4 layers) removed.

One minty mint SB, all the way from Korea.

Q) Is the retailer custom's friendly? (i.e will they mark as gift, or low value).
A) Very friendly, you have various options to choose from:
rsz_customs-kimchi.jpg

Q) Will the retailer charges upon order or upon shipment
A) You will be charged upon order

Q) What payment do they accept?
A) Card or Paypal

Q) Customer Services any good?
A) Yes - overall a very good, reliable site to order from.

Cancellations: Send an email to [email protected], including the number of the order you wish to cancel. He'll get back to you as soon as he can.

Replacements: are issued if in stock, if not a refund will be offered.
Refunds: They are normally processed within a few days.

I got to checkout and confirmed my order and shipping choice and when I clicked card to make payment it went straight to my account page showing my order number and order status is receipt of order
I never got to enter my credit card details at all
I sent payment by PayPal separately to Tony
I have sent Tony an email with my order number and my PayPal transaction id
Hopefully my order will be accepted

FYI: The information in the original post is outdated, there's no Small Packet option anymore, it got replaced by K-Packet a while back.

I'm still waiting for Tony to acknowledge my PayPal payment and update my order to payment method from card to PayPal and Payment Status to complete instead of receipt of order

Tony did contact me once today but only to ask Let us Know your PayPal account and he will send the PayPal invoice to me for my order
This was a reply to my first email I sent him which was
Hi Tony
I placed an order for Iron Man Lenticular
I clicked card and site crashed before i got the chance to enter my credit card details
I can pay by PayPal if needed
I have an order with status of Receipt of Order
Order number xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
How do I complete Payment
Can you help please
Thank You
Paul Boland

I replied to his email explaining I have sent other emails to him explaining I have already made payment using PayPal and provided him with all the details of this payment and what my PayPal account email is

I sent him a reply that I already did a PayPal payment on Monday manually by paying to [email protected] and used my kimchidvd order number as reference in the payment
I have sent all this details to him with the PayPal transaction id

Do any of the staff here have contact with Tony
To explain what I have done as I don't know for sure if he has is understood my emails or has he even read the later emails or reply to the one he sent me as he only replied to my first email

Right now I have a payment showing on my PayPal account accepted by PayPal to Tony I did manually on Monday and a email of this transaction from PayPal but no acknowledgement yet from kmichidvd for this payment and they have not updated my order from receipt of order to payment complete and payment method updated from card to PayPal

I will wait till Tomorrow to see if he sends another email reply to me as I know its 4.27am in Korea right now
I don't want to be sending constant emails to tony as I already have sent him 5 emails

I'm getting worried I have a payment made for an order that will not be completed
Paul

seems kimchi had changed the order history. Almost all my old orders i never bought changed to cancelled! Funny ;)

Yes I have seen that they used to be listed in cancel/refund section and were failed orders that used to have payment listed as cash and status of in writing of order

With lot of failed Iron Man they probably decided to do a clean up of the failed orders listed as in writing of order to cancelled
It will cause confusion for some who don't know why these are now listed in main orders section

I hope they don't get to many emails now as a result of these older failed orders showing up in orders as cancelled as they already have lots of emails due to Iron Man

Seeing in the 'Her' thread that a few people have had their items delivered without the Merchandise value being changed as they requested. Is there a reason for this? I'm hoping that it's just a one off mistake as I really really wouldn't like to be paying customs charges on my Kimchi orders as i'm sure many others wouldn't want to.

I'm actually pretty peed off with Kimchi right now. I've been sending them emails regarding an issue I have since 17/11/14 and have not had a single reply to any of them. I did also try to get some help from @Choi Chungkwon, but no response there either. I, like many, have stuck with Kimchi through all the crap they've gone through with terrible site etc, bought a number of their items but their CS is pretty damn poor. If it's that hard to reply to messages, employ another person?

I feel its like a lucky draw with Kimchi. Some people get exceptional customer service and some people just dont get a single reply [emoji20]. I am in the latter and its very upsetting. My Her was shipped over a month and Kimchi hasn't reply to me yet. I should have just gone with paypal dispute when I had a chance. I was in two minds whether to file it since it might affect Kicmhi's business with paypal. Hell if I as a customer can think of their businesses well being then should I expect any less?

@Choi Chungkwon, high time Kimchi needs to step up their customer service and be more consistent across every customer.

All ninja here have complaint about his customer service.

I always talk with him to get CS better for himself and business.

But what he has to do should be done by himself. I can not do it for him.

So all customers in kimchidvd should wait until he reply to you

As for solutions,
1. Send mail to him everyday to let him know
2. Open case in paypal for instant response.

@keyjey ,
Fyi, In June Paypal extended their buyer protection window from 45 days to 180 Days.

I'm very tempted to open a case, having not had a single reply in nearly a month now, but there's something about it that feels too drastic IMO. But if that is the only way to get a reply, then maybe...
