Feel free to discuss shipping, customer service, availability, etc about this retailer here.

List of Kimchidvd.com Exclusives HERE

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q) What is the link to Kimchidvd?
A)Welcome to KIMCHI DVD
Q) I haven't mastered Korean yet - how can I read the site?!
A) Install Google translate on your browser:

Google Chrome HERE
Firefox HERE

Q) How do I register?
A) Turn on Google translate >> Login >> click on "If members to join ..." >> fill in EVERY box >>
click on this box to ensure your member ID is available:
rsz_button.jpg

You don't need to use Google Translate to register, provided you use the English registration link.
You need to enter both a Celluar phone (mobile) and Telephone number when registering/placing an order, however they can both be the same number (I don't have a home phone number, so always use my mobile number).
Numbers should be entered without a proceeding 0 and you do not need to enter your country code (KimchiDVD add it automatically to your parcel label).

So a UK phone (01452 123123) is specified like this:
Local Area Code : 1452 Phone Number : 123123

A UK mobile (07847 123123) is specified like this:
Local Area Code : 7847 Phone Number : 123123

If you have already registered, afterlogging in you can update your address/phone numbers here.

Q) Do they ship outside of Korea?
A) Yes, worldwide delivery, various shipping options available, for example to UK: (1 x steelbook)

K-Packet is tracked and one Steelbook to UK (with a weight of 450g - which is the typical weight for a lenticular) costs $10.81.
On average it takes around 7 days after dispatch to arrive in the UK - I always use K-Packet when placing orders and my orders have always arrived safely.

I'm not sure if it's insured or not (there's no mention) but assuming you pay via PayPal, their guarantee will cover you if you don't receive your order for some reason.

You can track your K-Packet order using this website, however tracking information isn't always accurate after leaving Korea (e.g. sometimes it doesn't update again before it's delivered, or even after if your postman doesn't bother getting a signature).

EMS $21.80 (Tracked, replacement will be issued where possible if lost)
TNT Premium $37.80 (Tracked, replacement will be issued where possible if lost)

Q) What form of packing do they use?
A) Cardboard Box, with enough bubblewrap to keep things safe, see below: (Thanks to SBC28 for pics)

A pretty sturdy box, which seemingly took some damage during shipping.
(These are pretty much always the same boxes.)
kimchipackaging01.jpg

Enough space for the item to "breathe", but snug enough to stop it from moving.
(That white thing is the invoice, which i choose to include, since i am in the USA.)
kimchipackaging02.jpg

6 layers of bubble wrap.

Another shot of the bubble wrap, one sheet (4 layers) removed.

One minty mint SB, all the way from Korea.

Q) Is the retailer custom's friendly? (i.e will they mark as gift, or low value).
A) Very friendly, you have various options to choose from:
rsz_customs-kimchi.jpg

Q) Will the retailer charges upon order or upon shipment
A) You will be charged upon order

Q) What payment do they accept?
A) Card or Paypal

Q) Customer Services any good?
A) Yes - overall a very good, reliable site to order from.

Cancellations: Send an email to [email protected], including the number of the order you wish to cancel. He'll get back to you as soon as he can.

Replacements: are issued if in stock, if not a refund will be offered.
Refunds: They are normally processed within a few days.

Would love Drive...
Could Choi's avatar be a hint :dunno:
avatar10240_2.gif

Or could he just like the film and i now look stupid :hilarious:

Whatever the film, you can be sure that Choi and Kimchi won't dissapoint if T2 is anything to go by :)

---------- Post added at 12:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:04 PM ----------

I just hope they are not sharing a Face/Off print run with Blufans, nothing against the film or Kimchi, its just that i would prefer to get a Kimchi exclusive over a Blufans, and if i join the Blufans GB and then Kimchi do the same, i will be gutted as i will not double dip for £40 each... ;)

@Choi....you said a few days ago that Exclusive #2 had never been released in Steelbook before !! :wtf:
I now see that its #3 that's having a first time Steelbook release. So things have changed since you stated that.

If so then I really hope its Drive as that would be awesome...EEK! :D

Did tony decide to redo, but better of course a film that has already had the steel treatment?

If so I really hope along with quite a few others its DRIVE....EEK!

Yes, by the looks of it #2 is a film which already has a steel (bit probs not that great)...
This is Chois post in the T2 thread:
Hi guys

Scanavo confirmed that T2 steelbook will be arrived by 14th May

after arrive, tony and his staff to pick up the mint steelbook without spine slash, no paint chip and no scratch at all. (Most of members know Tony is OCD :D, Even He did not accept shrink wrap torn)

and then start packaging
Put T2 photo card into T2 logo case
Put T2 logo case into T2 Steelbook
Put T2 Steel into Slipcase
and Plastic packaging
then Put exclusive sticker on it

and make many bubble to protect steel from any of damage during transportation
and he will send those of shipment by your own shipping method like small packet or EMS

I guess it will takes 3 days to finalize the packaging and Tony will send your shipment from 20th June (maybe earlier if Tony does not sleep :D)

After sample of T2 steel arrives, I will post a pic here to share how T2 look like embossed and debossed, Slipcase and exclusive sticker

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next kimchiDVD exclusive #2 will be revealed before Next Friday
(I guess next Tuesday or Thursday :) )

and I will reveal next kimchiDVD exclusive #3 in this thread after exclusive #2 revealed

Exclusive #2 : re-released one but make it better like T2
Exclusive #3 : new released one never released before

member please discuss the next exclusive titles in the Kimchidvd retail thread, not here !!

I never thought of drive but now thinking about it, I'd prefer drive over T3 as I've got T3 in steel and have still never got drive.

A drive steel in the pattern of the futureshop slip would be so awesome :scat:

Tracking of Kimchidvd Standard shipping method parcels

FYI, the Kimchidvd standard shipping option also provides tracking, as it's actually a Korea Post registered service.

Here's how:
- go to Korea Post English site (http://www.koreapost.go.kr/eng/main/index.jsp)
- select EMS Search from the Quick Menu on the right
- type in your tracking number, select International Registered Item, and click OK
- you get a list of tracking events starting at the post office Kimchidvd is using

Here's what I see for a recent shipment from Kimchidvd:
kimchitracking.png

My national post service (Finland Post) gives me exactly the same tracking event information (worded a bit differently) on their own tracking service site.

No, I didn't have to pay customs duties or VAT even though the parcel was "Handed over to Customs"; foreign parcels to Finland from outside EU always go through customs, they just won't be taxed if the final tax would be less than a fixed limit (5 EUR).

I'm sure everybody already knows you can track your order at kimchi's tbh.

You can also just login at kimchidvd, click 'my account' and click on your order tracking ID. That's the easy way.

Cool! Just never tried that, as I somehow got the impression that tracking was only available for EMS shipments.

Sorry about the waste of bandwidth!

Kimchi #2 is a re-release: ?

Drive would be freaking awesome. :scat:

T2 was also a re-release, but we got the chance to choose the extras and finishes.
Maybe the same could be done for Kimchi #2 (re-release).
